Cannot import data into Koha

Dear All, I've converted my existing library database in MS Access into MARC format using MarcEdit tool. Now when I'm importing that into the Koha the data stays into the reservior. Is there any way of importing the data in MARC format directly into the active database of the Koha system. I've tried using the script "bulkmarcimport.pl" but this script only recognize ISO2709 format. Monday, December 25, 2006 19:50 CST Hi, Arnab, To migrate your data, you could make use of a free tool like MARCEdit, for which you can find some information and a download link off the Library of Congress MARC Records, Systems and Tools page at URL <http://www.loc.gov/marc/marctools.html>. You would have to convert the Access database into a delimited text file and use the MARCEdit tool for importing, being careful to set up the fields and subfields parameters in MARCEdit so as not to lose any information and to ensure it ends up in the correct place according to MARC coding standards. If you are using MARC21, the free bibliographic standards information off of the MARC Standards page URL <http://www.loc.gov/marc/>. at LC is invaluable. How well your data migration works will depend greatly on the shape the data is in in MSAccess. GIGO. Depending on where your call number data is stored and how, you may also have problems in creating call numbers that Koha can display/use, although this is not usually a great difficulty to fix. If you would like, please feel free to send me a record sample (a few typical records -- not 100s or 1000s) off listserv and I would be glad to advise you on the field set-up for the MARCEdit delimited text import stage. More on Koha 2.2.7 with MySQL 5.0 - I do want to try having it working

Hi all 1. In spite of the known incompatibility of current version (2.2.7) with MySQL 5.0, I do want to try having it working (I have Debian Etch I had troubles downgrading to MySQL 4.1). I succeeded with installation of 2.2.7. 2. The first problem I see: I can use catalogue to add book, and than see it in the database using MySQL-ADMIN But I can not see it by using search. Could it be connected to the MySQL version? 3. I read and tried the suggestion of Dana Huff (even though it was for 2.2.5) in http://lists.katipo.co.nz/pipermail/koha/2006/010477.html Where it's written: "... there are a couple of modules that must be modified" This didn't help here. koha installation

Hi, I'm trying to install koha on a host which is hosting a mysql 5 installation. So, i started mysql 4.1 on 127.0.0.2 and typed this ip as mysql host during installation. but installer still tries to use localhost and fails with: Creating the MySQL database for Koha... /usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)' ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I also added 127.0.0.2 to /etc/hosts with a host name but it didn't helped. How can I use this server? (The solution would be editing /etc/hosts and changing localhost to 127.0.0.2 which is _really_ ugly.)

Losing indexing?

Hi. I've got a bit of a problem. Don't know where the software is going wrong... 2 days ago, I could search by title and find records. Today, when I search by title, the catalog finds nothing. But if I search by branch, the program finds everything. Any clues? perl script I need to edit? Thanx. Lenora

MARC record reservoir

Ok. So how do we remove records from the reservoir? Once we've edited the records and added the biblio, the reservoir record should go away. Am I missing something?
