More than just one administrator

Hi Koha community, I'm wondering if it's possible to have more than one administrator, and set access to some modules (Acquisition, Catalogue, etc) according to a defined user (or role). I guess not, because I just see an entry in the /etc/koha.conf file like this: user=kohaadmin pass=mypassword And there's not additional settings. Is it possible or not? Anybody has done this before? Newbie Question...

Hi all! I have recently set up my experimental KOHA server on an old OS X 10.4 machine, and it worked fine, I got all the perl mods in, and installed, and we've been able to access the administrative side of the system just fine. However, when I try to connect to the OPAC I get an Internal server error. I know its finding the server, its redirecting to the cgi-bin and all, and its pulling up the little short welcome to KOHa splash page, but then it tries to load the cgi page, and gives met the error. When I installed I set the ports to 85 and 8085, just so they'd be off the main channel, but otherwise, I think I set everything real Kosher. Can anyone give me some ideas on where to look first? Defining Issuuing Rules

Hi Koha community, I've been defining issuing rules, but I got a problem with the fines rules. If I define "2000,7,7" as a fine rule, later I got "2000.00000" in the issuing/fine rules grid when I check it out. Maybe I missing a parameter or something I got to define somewhere else? Hi, 1 - As far as I know the order of installing perl modules needed for Koha is not that critical. 2 - Maybe it is possible to install Koha without internet connection, but it will be a lot harder to find missing modules. Me, I would not know how to install without internet access. Koha ZOOM install

Hi, Let me first say thanks to the developers of this feature-complete free library management system. I just installed Koha (v2.2.7) for the first time, since I wanted to test the new faceted browsing interface shown at: http://zoomopac.liblime.com/ That worked fine, and then I bravely tried to install the zebra-plugin/dev_week tree using this wiki page: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=installingzebraplugin226 Some gotcha's I encountered: - My Koha DB was called "Koha" not "koha" (as the zebra plugin config defaults to that) - I had to type "mkdir /koha/zebradb/biblios/lock", to make the zebra server start - various other paths were missing/incorrect - various missing Perl module dependencies (beyond the wiki page hints) Now both the OPAC and koha-backend don't work anymore, I suspect there are permission problems, since get "Premature end of script headers: mainpage.pl" but no other errors when I run the mainpage.pl script from the command-line. The needed symlinks setups have gotten somewhat messy. In my case some perl modules also needed symlinks, to get them resolvable. My point here is, that its currently quite difficult to get it the new OPAC interface to work. Do others share this opinion? My questions: - The 2.2.7 code did not show the faceted browsing interface, is all that code in the dev_week tree? Is the Zebra-plugin required for the new OPAC interface? (I've not fully studied all the code, yet ;-) - If all of the "Koha ZOOM" package is opensource, has anybody created a (non-commercial) "/koha" package with all the right sources and layout, so one just needs to: - install the dependencies (perl modules, yaz, zebra server, etc.), - configure Apache (provide a standard example that fits with the standard /koha setup) - Setup the CGI environment (describe permissions and logging in docs)? I think the install process could be simplified a lot using such a pre-build "Koha ZOOM" package. All the different layouts and old config files are really confusing IMHO. A more complete list of Perl modules and other dependencies (compile yax with libxml2, etc..) would also be nice have in the documentation. Sir, when i started installing perl modules first one was marc:record to be installed as per instructions but i run by mistake perl -MCPAN -e 'install Event' first of all and it is not installe dwhat should i do to bring my system back in it's original state.. secondly guide me whether we should be connected to web for installing koha... thankx

Koha 2.2.7, Debian etch and mysql-server-5.0 question: Due to the known incompability of mysql-server-5.0, I have decided today to downgrade from mysql-server-5.0 to mysql-server-4.1, and than to try re-install Koha 2.2.7. but when I'm doing this: $sudo apt-get install mysql-server-4.1 I'm informed that: =========================================================================== The following extra packages will be installed: libdbd-mysql-perl libmysqlclient15off mysql-client-5.0 mysql-common mysql-server-5.0 The following NEW packages will be installed libdbd-mysql-perl libmysqlclient15off mysql-client-5.0 mysql-common mysql-server-4.1 mysql-server-5.0 0 upgraded, 6 newly installed, 0 to remove and 156 not upgraded. Hi Luis, I think one piece of the puzzle is to make sure you have the Net-Z3950-ZOOM module installed. I hunted all over the internet and couldn't find a W32 build of this module. I was about ready to try building it myself, but last night I found http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/. They have a link where you can submit a build request for any w32 packages that aren't available, and they will try to build it for you. I submitted a request and within an hour had an email back that a package was ready. How's that for service! So if you need a w32 build of Net-Z3950-ZOOM, you can now download it at http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/zips/ I downloaded the package last night and verified that it installed properly in ActivePerl 5.8.8.819. This morning I added it to the install package of Perl modules at http://koha.rwjr.com/ I also know that you need the latest Yaz toolkit that is available from http://www.indexdata.dk/yaz/ I think the latest version is 2.1.40. They do have a install package for windows that seems to work fine. Do you have Net-Z3950-ZOOM and Yaz installed? If not, try adding those pieces. That's how much I have been able to do so far. I have not had time to test this with Koha, but hope to do so soon. Let us know if you make any progress.
