Re: [Koha] Uploading Bibs from staging area...Koha

Irene, Staging MARC records is where you upload files from an external source. As for records you downloaded via z39.50 you find by searching your catalog. You may have to reindex your catalog to find them. --- Nicole C. error in Amazon.pm script?
by Emrys Minnig 05 Nov '08

05 Nov '08

Something that might be of interest to the development team... I think there's a small oversight in C4/Amazon.pm. On line 101 it reads: my $uri = "http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/$isbn/ref=sib_dp_pt/002-7879865-0184864#rea…"; This line ignores the locale settings (in my case UK) which the majority of times breaks the 'Search Inside' capability. problem with CGI::Session (Auth ERROR : cannot get_session() )
by Paul POULAIN 05 Nov '08

05 Nov '08

Hello, The maintainers of the CGI::Session package have splitted the package in smaller pieces. If you install or upgrade CGI::Session to 4.38, you won't have CGI::Session::serialize::yaml, and Koha won't work anymore at all (impossible to get a session, so, you'll get a nasty "Auth ERROR: Cannot get_session()" The solution is to install the CGI::Session::serialize::yaml package, it's simple ! We will update Koha installer for 3.0.1 to check for this dependancy explicitly. -- Paul POULAIN http://www.biblibre.com Expert en Logiciels Libres pour l'info-doc NOUVEAU TELEPHONE : 04 91 81 35 08

Hello, i am new to koha. my first installation experiment is in fedora 8 and i face number of problems. Help me at this time.. My koha installation is blocked because of missing C4 perl modules. i didn't find /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules directory after my installation but C4 directory is found in the koha directory [where i run the makefile.pl]. Could i manually create a directory modules in /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules and put the C4 directory to here, after that if i create a symbolic link to /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/, will it work?? Problem with Install Process?
by harry wykman 05 Nov '08

05 Nov '08

Hi Folks, Andy and I have been discussing this under "Apache Problem?". Both of us now appear to have the same problem of being able to access the koha site only from 127.0.1.1 on the box with koha installed but not via a LAN using the host name (which displays the default Apache page (it works!) whether for :80 or :8080). My apache.conf and koha-httpd.conf files are below. I would really appreciate assistance. I intend to serve the OPAC publicly ultimately but this is an important first step! Thanks, Harry Andy wrote_______________________________________ That's odd. I'm in the middle of re-doing a Koha install and now I'm having the same problem: 127.0.1.1 works but the server name doesn't. I know I've had that working in one of my previous installs, but there must be another step I'm missing now. We've reached the outer edge of my Linux knowledge -- I'm a Linux newbie, and am working on my Koha tutorial in part to help myself learn it. But I'm still working on it, and if I find the answer I'll let you know. In the mean time if it's important for you to use the server name, someone in the Koha list (or a general Linux support forum) might be able to help more. ...Andy -----Original Message----- From: harry wykman [mailto:harrybw@iinet.net.au] Sent: Monday, November 03, 2008 11:21 PM To: Andy Giesler Subject: Re: [Koha] Apache problem? Hi Andy, Thanks. Still no good unfortunately. Here are my apache.conf and koha-httpd.conf APACHE.conf #Define the server's name ServerName "logos" # # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool. # # This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.1/> for detailed information about # the directives. # # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding # what they do. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a # whole (the 'global environment'). # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server, # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host. # These directives also provide default values for the settings # of all virtual hosts. # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the # same Apache server process. # # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/apache2/foo.log" # with ServerRoot set to "" will be interpreted by the # server as "//var/log/apache2/foo.log". # ### Section 1: Global Environment # # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache, # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it # can find its configuration files. # # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # NOTE! Congratulations to Rosalie Blake
by Chris Cormack 05 Nov '08

Hi all Just wanted to bring to the community's attention the fact that Rosalie Blake (the Head librarian at Horowhenua Library trust, and a massive reason why Koha exists) was just awarded a lianza fellowship. Lianza is the Library and Information association of NZ Aotearoa, and a fellowship is the highest honour they bestow. The article on the lianza site is http://www.lianza.org.nz/development/awards/professional/2008-recipients.ht… And I did a quick blog post at http://blog.bigballofwax.co.nz/2008/11/03/rosalie-blake-is-now-a-lianza-fel… So huge congrats to Rosalie and all her team at Horowhenua Library trust, may they always continue their trail blazing ways :) Chris

Has anyone had a problem with Zebra only returning a maximum of 100 records? Is this a default setting somewhere in the config files? Thanks. James Winter Arcadia University <http://www.arcadia.edu/> Systems Manager 215.517.2588 winterj(a)arcadia.edu <mailto:winterj@arcadia.edu>
