Loading bib records from reservoir
by Irene Sachs 29 Oct '08

29 Oct '08

Dear List We have downloaded Koha 3 on Linux and set all parameters. We have downloaded some test records into the reservoir using the Z39.50 connection and added item records. However, when we search the catalogue for these records they still appear in the reservoir not the catalogue. Any records added manually do not appear in either the catalogue or the reservoir. How do we make the records change from the reservoir to the catalogue? Also what do you do to make manually added records appear in the catalogue? We would appreciate your help. Thanks Irene _________________________________________________________________

Need help with reports
by Ann Jordan 29 Oct '08

Please help, We have been running Koha for almost a year, current version is : Linux koha 2.6.18-6-amd64 #1 SMP Sat May 24 09:34:54 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux We would like to produce a report of "lost" items. We have been able to produce an inventory list of our collection (Accounts and Reports - Catalog Statistics - Inventory/Stocktaking - Generate Report) that curiously does NOT include lost items. How do we get that list of lost items? Any suggestions would be great appreciated. Thank you, Ann -- Ann L. transfering data from 2.2.9 to koha 3.0
by Marty 29 Oct '08

29 Oct '08

I managed to get koha 3.0 on my screen. Yeah! However, I imported data from 2.2.9 to 3.0 with mysqldump and I can search for patrons but if I click on any of them, the system says the user doesn't exist. Searches for books do not return any results. The books are in the database. Did I miss doing something? And, would koha 3 be faster with zebra installed? It seems really slow, but that also could be because my test system is a not so knew pentium 3? Thanks, Marty

(no subject)

Hi, We are a small special library (archaeology and cultural heritage) of about 80.000 items. We're currently considering changing our library system and are considering Koha. In order to get all our data in the system, we would require the use of the 773 and 774 fields. I've been experimenting a bit with koha 3 (zebra enabled), but I can't seem to get these fields to work. I'm trying to create links between records using the 773$w and 774$W subfields (control numbers). I've tried to find out as much as I could from the perl scripts, but I'm not very familiar with the language. Does Koha do anything with these fields? If so, what does it do with them and how should I use them? Kind regards, Maarten

Biggest Koha Problem
by Josh Westbrook 27 Oct '08

I work for a small rural library district and we are looking at possibly migrating to the Koha system. I wanted to ask active users of Koha a question: What is your biggest problem/bug with Koha? Any brief description you could share would be helpful and feel free to contact me off list. -- Josh Westbrook Prescott Library Mngr/District Technology Mngr Walla Walla County Rural Library District 37 Jade Ave Walla Walla, WA 99362 joshw(a)wwrurallibrary.com | 509.527.3284 http://www.wwrurallibrary.com Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. Is it possible to install Koha on Apache 1.3 or on Apache 2.0 on a port other than 80?
by Elena Vera 25 Oct '08

25 Oct '08

Hello, Everybody. I'm new here. I live in Spain and my English is not the best ;-) One our our users, an ecologist non-profit-making association, has asked us to install Koha for them. We run a dedicated server, and host some hundred virtual sites. I have requested our ISP (DataPipe) to install Koha for us, as I do not have the necessary knowledge. DataPipe support team is not familiar with Koha, but can support it on a best effort basis moving forward. Can we run Koha on Apache/1.3.33 Redhat ; PHP Version 5.2.6? Our server uses a control panel for hosting administration (easyAdmin, by DataPipe) that only works with Apache 1.3. The only way Apache 2.0 can be installed on our server is in addition to 1.3, however it would have to run on a port other than 80. Would this be suitable for this software package? Thank you very much for your help. Elena Vera
