I solved a similar problem with latin characters (ñ,í,ó, etc.) forcing Firefox to use UTF-8 character encondig. Then Z39.50 import/display correctly into KOha. saludos.

migrating Koha to a new computer

Hello, I recently helped a local community center to setup their library management system using Koha. Now a new server is being bought and Koha is to moved to that spanking new machine. So, what is the best way to migrate the library data to the new machine? What I am guessing is: 1. Install the latest version of Koha in the new machine. 2. Create the Mysql users 3. Export the library database from the old machine (not sure how exactly) 4. Import that in the new machine. Is the the above workable? In any case, I would probably need instructions in more detail on how go about doing this. A pre-existing web page on this topic would also be great. Regards.

Hello, While trying OAI-PMH compatibility in Koha all the verbs could be executed successfully except GetRecord. The verb GetRecord could not be executed because of the following error. Export Bibs/holdings is giving an error...

Hi all, I am trying to export biblios and items (Tools-->Export Bibs/holdings) to MARC output format. I have tried exporting to XML output format as well. Problem with Amazon content

Hi all, I experienced a problem after enabling AmazonContent. I've set my AssocTag, Locale (UK) and AccessKeyID in the System Preferences, and a search does indeed yield a list of results which correctly displays book covers from Amazon. I intend to set up Koha 3.00 . I do not have access to internet from the library and my installation is meant for the intranet only. Can I set up Koha 3.00 without internet connection. How do I go about doing it. Can anyone help. Thanks

downloading reports to excel

I sent the email earlier. Nicole said there is a patch to fix this problem but I still do not know how to accomplish this. Can anyone help me solve this issue. Thank you. Lexa I am a new user to Koha 3.0000107 acquisitions. Today my problem is guided reports. I got the report constructed and run. Only the first part of the report showed on the screen. I need to check to see if I have entered some titles as I am entering material purchased before we began using Koha acquisitions. The report on screen showed only page 1 and did not indicate there were other pages. Since I could not see it on screen I wanted to download it. I then tried to download the report to excel but got an error message. The message was Error exporting report. When I had my test server that feature worked okay. Am I missing something somewhere? Is this a step in the install? I do not have a programmer and the person that installed the program is no longer here. I may be able to get some help on campus if I know how to fix the problem. Hello again, everyone - My IT guy has (finally) brought me in my server loaded with Koha and I have spent a bit of time using Brooke's Newbie Manual (unfortunately Nicole's link to the draft 3.0 Manual is not applicable). Unfortunately, I have already run into some basic problems. Any help with the following is GREATLY appreciated: 1. When entering a new member, the expiry field does not autocalculate and I am unable to issue books because the system believes their card has expired. In the scheme of things, this is not a big problem because I can manually enter an expiry date, but I'm wondering if I set something wrong in the parameters. 2. When I try to issue a book using any of the members (no matter what borrower category), I get the following error message: "Too many issues (already issued / max : c 0 / 0)." Again, I think I may have set something up wrong, even though I have double-checked my issuing rules and all borrower categories have good rules (generally "14,5"). Is there some way I can check what is wrong?
