Re: [Koha] Binding journal--collapse periodical holdings
by Betsy Dintaman 07 Nov '08

What item field would be best for the "summary holding statement" you suggest? In adding periodical titles to Koha, I would like to put the holdings summary where I can then print out a list of periodical titles and holdings. What's the best way to do this? original MARC record
by Kate Blair Elliott 06 Nov '08

06 Nov '08

Hi we are working on doing some retro cataloging as we work to get Koha up and running and I am running into trouble when trying to create original MARC records (note we don't do a lot of this). I wanted to enter the personal name in the 100 field but the field was shaded grey and wouldn't let me enter anything. I went to do an authority search and found no results. Two questions: Any ideas on why I can't click in that field (I assume this is something simple I am just flaking on) and Where is the system searching for authority records...our other MARC records...the Library of Congress list? Do we set th

icu diacrtics and search problems
by Chadwick, John, DCA 06 Nov '08

06 Nov '08

Okay, here is a very good mystery for everyone. Koha 3.01.00.002 on Ubuntu 8. When we use the default.idx file with Koha and the word-phrase-utf.chr file, Koha searches perfectly fine and life is good, except for diacritics. So, we modify the default.idx file and use the icu.xml file and diacritics work correctly. Searching is a different matter. Keyword searching fails unless the search term has kw= in front of the term. Also, the search term followed by an asterisk also works. Title, author and all the other search functions work. I got the following from the opac error log: [Thu Nov 06 11:06:02 2008] [error] [client xxxxxxx] HTML::Template::Pro:in TMPL_IF at pos 2399:end tag:found e instead of > at pos 2425 [Thu Nov 06 11:06:02 2008] [error] [client xxxxxxx] HTML::Template::Pro:in TMPL_IF at pos 2860:end tag:found e instead of > at pos 2886 I am ready to entertain any ideas or suggestions.
