Hello, I'm installing Koha 3.0 on Ubuntu 8.04. I've successfully installed the same configuration on the same machine twice in the last few weeks. Early in the process I add these two lines to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://ftp.indexdata.dk/debian indexdata/sarge released deb-src http://ftp.indexdata.dk/debian indexdata/sarge released followed by an "apt-get update". However, this week the update fails to find those two sources: Err http://ftp.indexdata.dk indexdata/sarge/released Packages 404 Not Found Err http://ftp.indexdata.dk indexdata/sarge/released Sources 404 Not Found W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.indexdata.dk/debian/dists/indexdata/sarge/released/binary-i386/P… 404 Not Found W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.indexdata.dk/debian/dists/indexdata/sarge/released/sources/Sourc… 404 Not Found I'm able to ping ftp.indexdata.dk so I know it's not down. Installing Koha on disconnected box

Hello, i am trying to help someone who has no internet access to setup and run Koha on a fresh box. i break the install process into four major pre-requisites: Installing the OS, Apache, and MySQL, and lastly, getting the Perl modules While we can manage the first three relatively easily, its the fourth one (Perl modules) that i need help with. One ("brute force"?) approach i thought i'd try is to just copy over the contents of the Perl paths that contain the modules from my own running install of Koha. (The modules are at /usr/lib/perl5 and /usr/local/lib/perl5). If the OS and everything else is pretty similar, there is some chance this will work, given that the modules were compiled for a similar architecture (an x86 PC)? i haven't tried this yet, but before i do, i am sure there are better ways to do this. For e.g., cpan still has the sources for all the modules i fetched at /root/.cpan/sources Perhaps, i can compile and install cpan from scratch on the new box, copy over the sources, and give CPAN a "local file url" (like file://...?) to go look for stuff? Or is it possible to (temporarily and relatively easily) create a CPAN mirror on a box on the local network? Otherwise there are perhaps just too many modules and dependencies required to satisfy them to try and do this one at a time. Also, i hear there's a way to get a "tarball" of modules for specific needs, has someone tried doing one for Koha? Or can i create one from what i already have? Koha 3.0 Installation error

I am struggling with an Installation error on Koha 3.0 which i cant figure out the cause and how i can go round it. Am installing Koha 3.00.00 on Ubuntu 7.1 with MySQL 5. Someone please help me. Koha for library with special needs

We are considering to use Koha for a library at the Polish Cultural Foundation. The library has about 10,000 books which are mostly in Polish. The foundation is based in the U.S. and most patrons have computers configured with U.S. keyboard and they would not know or go to the trouble of localizing they keyboards to support Polish characters. Hence it is critical for us that the search can be performed using "normalized" keywords where all Polish special characters could be replaced with English "equivalents". For example, a city name "Łódź" could be found by typing "Lodz". So far we have experimented a little with Koha (I think version 2.2, but I am not sure since someone else configured it), and we were able to import some Polish titles and find them by entering exact Polish spelling, however, replacing special Polish characters with English equivalents did not seem to work. Does anyone know if "normalization" in searches can be done, and if so how to turn it on? If not, is it supported by any commercial version of Koha? CPAN Error

Dear All I am installing perl modules (Ubuntu 8.04) using CPAN. I have installed it many times before but have never ran into this particular problem. When I run install command I receive the following message. cpan> install XML::RSS Running install for module XML::RSS The module XML::RSS isn't available on CPAN. Either the module has not yet been uploaded to CPAN, or it is temporary unavailable. Please contact the author to find out more about the status. Updating perl modules

I am wondering how others who manage their own Koha installations deal with updating Perl modules. Do you do updates on a regular schedule?
