Biggest Koha Problem

I work for a small rural library district and we are looking at possibly migrating to the Koha system. I wanted to ask active users of Koha a question: What is your biggest problem/bug with Koha? Dear users, Can any one help me about to discover where is the preference hide-dictionaire in the 3.0 version ? It is a useful tool and I would like to allow users to search using terms from title dictionaire. Thanks, Rafael

Is it possible to install Koha on Apache 1.3 or on Apache 2.0 on a port other than 80?

Hello, Everybody. I'm new here. I live in Spain and my English is not the best ;-) One our our users, an ecologist non-profit-making association, has asked us to install Koha for them. We run a dedicated server, and host some hundred virtual sites. I have requested our ISP (DataPipe) to install Koha for us, as I do not have the necessary knowledge. DataPipe support team is not familiar with Koha, but can support it on a best effort basis moving forward. Can we run Koha on Apache/1.3.33 Redhat ; PHP Version 5.2.6? Our server uses a control panel for hosting administration (easyAdmin, by DataPipe) that only works with Apache 1.3. The only way Apache 2.0 can be installed on our server is in addition to 1.3, however it would have to run on a port other than 80. Would this be suitable for this software package? Add new record error

Hi every one i'm using koha 2.2.8 on winxp and i have problem with 3 files (marc word) in my samlpe when i add new record and save it no problem in this but when i making search for any other records the all data one system disappear ,the all cataloging data alright in mysql tabels but when i search it on koha no results , i found the problem in marc word but failed to correct it any help. i'm using mysql 4.1 . my marc word file (50 M.B) is it the problem i don't think that's the problem . please i need help for my problem i can't do any new cataloging. thank you _________________________________________________________________ Invite your mail contacts to join your friends list with Windows Live Spaces. New Indexes in OPAC

Hi everyone, I am new to Koha and am trying to set up our OPAC to have more searchable indexes on the Advanced Search page which will search specific tags in the MARC record. We have added a note for our state children's award winners and nominees to the 586 tag which I would like to be able to search on. Here is what I've done so far: 1) edited record.abs to include the MARC tag that I want to search on (in this case 586$a) 2) edited bib1.att and added attribute 3) edited ccl.properties and added what the new indexes I wanted to be (in this case wa) and pointed it to the attribute that I assigned in the bib1.att 4) added the option value to the opac-advsearch.tmpl 5) reindexed When I go to the Advanced search page and choose the Award Winner from the drop down menu, and enter the wording on the tag's note, I don't get any results. What am I missing? Do I have to add the index term of "wa" to another file? I am on Koha 3.01.00.002, debian etch. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Melissa Melissa S. Editing baskets in the acquisition viewer

In the Koha acquisitions module, I created a book order basket, but for some of the items in this order I didn't add the Fund information. When I try to click onto the item I am taken to the catalogue record, rather than the order item record - and therefore unable to add the Fund information. I had a look at the manual and the source code and couldn't find an edit link, nor an obvious URL to use to display an edit page. Is there any way of editing an ordered item in the Acquisition record? If not, is this a bug or a feature? Lists/Virtual Shelves not working in OPAC

Lists in Koha 3 aren't working for me in the OPAC. I tried it first in 3.00.00 and upgraded to 3.01.00.002 to see if things improved. When I'm logged in to the OPAC, I can't add books to a list unless it's marked as open from the staff interface. I can create a private or public list from the OPAC, but I still can't put anything in the list. If I'm not logged in to the OPAC, I can rename lists, delete items from public lists and delete the list if there are no items in it. -- Tim McMahon Technical Services West Liberty Public Library

Hi, I'm a new hire at LibLime who will be working on koha codebase. This is my first time working with library-related code, but I've been doing web development for about 10 years (that went by too fast, IMO). Most of my server-side experience has been with Perl although I did take a brief diversion into Ruby, and on the client-side, my JavaScript library of choice is jQuery. I'm a big fan of Free Software, and I am glad that I am working on a Free project such as koha. importing sql dump from non-zebra Koha

Hello, I am going to install Koha on a new server in the coming some days. The last installation does not have zebra installed. However, we would like to be able to search complex scripts (internation languages; titles and other data in unicode). I understand that for this to work zebra is necessary. Is this correct? And if do install zebra in the new installation, can I dump the database of older Koha installation and import that in to the new one safely? Recall that the older one does not have zebra installed and the newer one will. Regards. -- Please reply to this list only. I read this list on its corresponding newsgroup on gmane.org. MARC Framework Question

Hello Everyone! I am setting up Koha v. 3.0 . According to the documentation, the default MARC Framework should be pre-installed, and have all the MARC codes listed. When I want to make a framework based upon the default, the created framework is blank. The default framework appears to be blank as well. No tags of any sort in the table. I thought to experiment by cataloging an item, in case the default settings were hidden. If necessary, I will enter each MARC field by hand, however when I try to add a new tag to my MARC framework, it reverts to the screen which asks me what Framework I am basing the current framework off of. Does anyone have any advice, especially regarding the blank default framework? I would like to note that my Global System Preferences were all blank when I began the project, no preferences or default values were present, and I had to set each by hand. Could this be related to the blank template for the default MARC framework? Is there a file that I am missing? I do have some technical support for the Apache/MySQL side of the project, but he is not a librarian. Thank you very much!
