Better searching
by Melanie Saldua 08 May '09

08 May '09

Hello, I have another question. When I search in my koha opac let's say "algo" there's no result but when I typed in "algorithms" there's some result. So that means I need to typed in the whole words I need to search in order to have results. Is it because I'm using nozebra? How do you turn on and configure zebra anyway? I'm using koha 3 on ubuntu 8.10. Thanks

installing on ubuntu 8.04LTS on AMD64
by Chris Morrison 08 May '09

08 May '09

I have been trying to adapt them to my environment without success. I am stuck trying to properly install YAZ and idzebra packages. I attempted to compile the deb from source for each. Worked great for YAZ but not for idzebra. Fortunately I found a zebra package for AMD64 and downloaded it. I am still having dependency issues related to libyaz3 and libidzebra-2.0. Any assistance is appreciated. Chris Morrison

Re: [Koha] Clearing "in house" OPACs
by Adrea Lund 08 May '09

08 May '09

Thank you Owen and Zeno for your suggestions! I shared them with my library's computer consultant and he does not want to build 'kiosk pcs' if a solution can be incorporated into KOHA. Owen's suggestion sounds like it would do pretty much what we want. However, I'm not sure exactly what this means... "When the timeout was reached, the page would redirect to the logout script." Our library would like to see the following behavior after a designated time period of inactivity - search history is cleared, cart is cleared, account is logged out, and browser is redirected to the catalog home page. Would it be appropriate to log this as an enhancement request in Bugzilla? Thank you, Adrea Adrea Lund Head of Adult Services Grand County Public Library 257 E. Excuse me for perhaps coming out of left field with this, but is GPL the correct technical name for GPL documentation? I'm thinking this might be more correct: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Free_Documentation_License Note on the above link: "(GNU FDL or simply GFDL) is a copyleft license for free documentation, designed by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) for the GNU Project. It is similar to the GNU General Public License, " "The GFDL was designed for manuals, textbooks, other reference and instructional materials, and documentation which often accompanies GNU software."
