I know that the Koha conference was just last month. I was just told I have money for staff development yesterday. Are there plans for another conference with in the next 12 months. How to upgrade koha

Hi to all I need to know steps to upgrade koha, I have backup to koha 1.2.3 and need to upgrade to koha 3 but i did not know how to convert data to koha 3, i read about convert by marcedit and read convert by upgrade to koha2.2.0 and to koha 2.2.8 to koha 3 please i need the steps to do upgrade please if any body know send to me all steps to upgrade. thnks John Smith _________________________________________________________________ Show them the way! Possibly bug 2917 related: help needed with problem editing Authority MARC Subfield Structure

Dear all we can't proceed editing our Authority MARC Subfield Structure. See below, including screenshots. Might be related to bug 2917 and we applied the patch this morning but our problem persists. We have 3.00.00.107 under Linux [1] and the browser is Firefox. Here is the point in the editing steps where we are still fine after adding the new tag 109 (as test example): http://screencast.com/t/ Gl2yXBzJXpD Obviously there is no Subfield list yet. After clicking "Edit subfields", things go wrong because the "subfield code" box is missing to type in the subfield (0-9, a-z) you wish to add. Here is the screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/SMSWqpqrllN If you do go on from this point and do a Save Changes anyway, Koha messes up and introduces a number of @ subfields in tag 109. Any takers ? Or should we report this as bug. Help appreciated ! Anyone using tag clouds?

Hi everyone, Is anyone using the tag / tag cloud feature for cataloguing purposes? We're considering the use of tags during the catalogue process, to allow use of additional subject/keyword material not part of MARC and Z39.50. I'm aware that 690 would allow us to put in local Subject assignments, and the cataloguer could enter the 690 AFTER a Z39.50 search. The problem we have is that we think we'd like to enter 690 BEFORE the Z39.50 search. I say BEFORE, because we'd map proprietary Subjects and Keywords during our initial migration from the legacy system, then slowly as we have time run z39.50 searches on all our records. If you're happily using tags for cataloguing, I'd appreciate a link to your OPAC so that I could see what this actually looks like in Koha. Thanks, Nelson

Koha 3 on OpenBSD

Hello again, I was wondering if anyone has success on installing koha 3 on openbsd? I have a working koha on ubuntu 8.10 (at last!) and now going to transfer the database and install a fresh version on our main server (OpenBSD). I can see that there's a manual for installing koha 2.2.8 on openbsd. I don't know if the same manual can work on koha 3. Can someone help me in installing on OpenBSD? Thanks

Query re set up of Koha catalogue

Hi there I am looking at moving to Koha LMS from Athena but I have a query. My catalogue is mainly indexed journal articles and web reports with only a few books. The Koha demonstrations site seems to have only book catalogues. Does anyone know of a catalogue similar to mine or has anyone set up a similar catalogue? I would welcome any suggestions. "Go" Button on search pages

Ok. Venting first, as the vent leads to the question. Customer sends a long diatribe about how Koha is not user friendly with log-ins, etc. And on the Search screens, the buttons are small and marked "Go". Mind you this person drives me up the wall with constant negativity, but honestly, the buttons are small and "Go" isn't really the same as "Search" So, is there a way to change the buttons to say "Search Now" with user preferences? Oh, and thank you to Owen Leonard for the FABULOUS blog on changing the system preferences to change pages. I've modified the catalog a bit to match more and hide other stuff that needed to be hidden because otherwise the customer above was too confused about how to use the software. Segmentation fault in koha conf.xml emergency
