Hullo Iam trying to install Koha, i have gone through the steps of installation, and all looked ok however, when i try to launch the browser it returns an error : {Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@librarycpl and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Idea for development - library floor plan on OPAC
by Agnes Rivers-Moore 19 Feb '10

19 Feb '10

Hi all I would like to imagine a feature for Koha's OPAC, where the customer can click on a 'Where is it?" button for any title that is available on shelf, and be presented with a library plan showing the section where the item should be. For instance, if the person looked up Pride & Prejudice, and the library has a copy in their Classics section, on the lower floor at the end of the Fiction shelving, the plan would show the shelving layout with the appropriate shelf area highlighted. This would of course require some work from each library to create the shelf layout, and then link it to categories or call number ranges in Koha. Just an idea, would this be hard to do, and is there interest out there? Agnes -- Agnes Rivers-Moore Assistant Librarian Hanover Public Library

Patron Account Permissions

I'm trying to add staff accounts that do not have full permissions when they log in, but unless I give an account "Superlibrarian" permissions they cannot log in to the main page. Error message is "Error: Unauthorized user"? Thanks, Scott

There are two pw possible but both did not work. could you tell me where to check the pw koha is using? Run the mysql client from a terminal window as your kohauser and do this: SHOW GRANTS\G The results should look something like this: mysql> SHOW GRANTS\G *************************** 1. row *************************** Grants for kohaadmin@localhost: GRANT ALL ON koha.* TO 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '<password hash>' If it does not, you need to: 1. exit the mysql client 2. log back into the client as user root 3. execute something like this: GRANT ALL ON koha.* TO 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY '<superSECRETpassword>'; 4. verify that the username/password used here match that in koha-conf.xml This information can also be found in the INSTALL.* file in the root of the directory where you extracted the Koha archive or the root of the git repo which matches your platform. How to Koha backup

Dear Sir/madam I'm Nick Rubosa of SICHE Library, Solomon Islands. I'm supervising the 'trial and error' koha venture here, and certainly, I'm no techie. But ours in up and running since last year (2009). Now I need the procedures to do a back up (mirroring) of this thing. Please help. I see no comments since almost a year ago, and no votes for it yet, so I hope to encourage some interest. I was thinking of something that would translate existing library location data (call number, item category, location and branch) from the item, rather than adding extra data as described ("create a new authorized type ?maplinks? then allow Koha administrators to put in any content they want"). Call number may be more precise than needed, but I think call number ranges should work, such as Junior Fiction A-J. I have added my thoughts to the "bug", and hope others will add comments and votes. I haven't 952 field
by JR RJ 18 Feb '10

18 Feb '10

Dear all, I have the problem that I can't get the link place hold in my opac.Looking the guide of koha, I noticed the utility of 952 field in cataloguing,i think that is the origin of my problem, because I'haven't the 952 field in cataloguing when i add a new item, and in my opac i haven't the status of my item. 1- How i can add the 952 field in my default marc 21 framework? 2- The function Place on reserve is the same of Place hold? Will be the end of my problems whit Koha?

OPAC Public Lists
by Barbara Keef 18 Feb '10

18 Feb '10

We are using LibLime Enterprise Koha. We've noticed that our public Lists in the OPAC only display title, author, and date. Patrons (and staff) would find it helpful if we could have 1 more nugget of info... either Call Number, Itemtype, or Shelving Location... we know there are limits to what we can change through LLEK... does anyone out there use LLEK and know how to change the info displayed in OPAC Lists? Please and thank you. Sally Bannen Adult Services/Catalog Librarian Windham Public Library Windham, ME 04062
