Greetings, I am just writing to introduce myself and my library. We are implementing Koha Express using LibLime's hosting service. We're interested in keeping up with and contributing to the Koha community. I am working with the Education, Diversity, and Equity Library located in the School of Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU-B) in the United States. This is a small specialized academic library that works independently from the University Libraries at CU-B. It's collection includes books and various curriculum materials and kits to support the students and faculty in the School of Education. I am functioning as a consultant to this library to help them implement their first integrated library system and OPAC. We started a week ago..so far so good. barcode label questions

I've decided to order barcode labels for our items rather than print them out ourselves. The Brodart form asks some questions I'm not sure how to answer. Should we use a specific code (such as 2 or 3 or P or T) to identify a Patron or Item bar code? Does our circulation software use an "Assigned Library Number" unique to our library? Is a "Check Digit" required for our circulation software? If yes, what modulus are check digit (if known)? I'd appreciate any guidance/feedback on this. My impulse is to answer "No" to everything, but my impulses have been wrong before. Thank you. Sorting by acquisition date doesn't work in advanced search

Hello, Sorting results by acquisition date doesn't work in advanced search (selecting "Newest to oldest" or "Oldest to newest" give results in the same order) on my installation (Koha 3.01.00.100, Zebra 2.0.42, marcflavour=UNIMARC). I suppose that the problem is Zebra-related. It seems that acquisition date is stored in the 8 first characters of field 100$a (for example: 20091224). In "etc/zebradb/ccl.properties", I read : Date-of-acquisition 1=Date-of-acquisition acqdate Date-of-acquisition But nothing about Date-of-acquisition in "etc/zebrardb/marc_defs/unimarc/biblios/record.abs" for the field 100$a. Can anyone give me a hint ? Thanks in advance, Alex

New classification source/ settings

Hi, I’d like to get some comments on which setting changes should I take into consideration when I use other classification system (ykl=Finnish public libraries classification system) in Koha. I’ve already added ykl as a new classification source and it’s the only one that I’ve set as “in use”. I also added ykl into the classification filing rules list. I use Z39.50 search, and the source doesn’t contain 084-fields, which I’ve added and which I fill in manually before saving records. Upgrade problem help request

Dear Koha upgrade experts. Long story about why we're in this mess ... snip, snip, snip .... Cutting to the chase: Debian 4.0 php4.3.10 mysql 4.0.24 We upgraded from Koha version 1.2.3 to version 2.2.9. After running koha.upgrade, we ran this koha2marc.pl. This resulted in an error: column 'bibid' cannot be null We searched the forums and mailing list and found the same problem, but no exact solution. It seems the error came from this function: $bibid = &MARCaddbiblio($dbh,$MARC,$biblionumber); If you have a suggestion, we would love to hear it. Thank you. I have just been having a poke about on koha-community.org . Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in establishing this invaluable community resource and warm thanks to Liz Rea and her team at Northeast Kansas Library System for hosting the site. I notice there is presently no link to the Koha 3.0 manual (at koha.org) . I see that documentation for 3.2 is to be posted shortly. Will a link to the 3.0 manual also be provided? Thanks again.
