----- Forwarded message from SDurand <SDurand(a)northperth.library.on.ca> ----- Date: Wed, 17 Feb 2010 10:53:22 -0500 From: SDurand <SDurand(a)northperth.library.on.ca> To: nengard(a)gmail.com Cc: chrisc(a)catalyst.net.nz, koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: Inventory/Stocktaking Help X-Mailer: Microsoft Office Outlook 12.0 Hi We are using KOHA 3.0 and would like to use the Inventory/Stocktaking Tool. We need help in developing accurate, easy to use procedures for an inventory of 50 thousand items. We would like to know what has been used successfully. We tried the Use a Barcode File, scanned three books into a text file; Imported and it correctly showed three items as modified. However, when using the last seen date the only way we could verify that we had seen it was by checking it in. It then removed it from the list and all that was there is what was not yet scanned. The Manual instructions are not helpful at all and we cannot imagine scanning every book in through check-in. Ideas please? Italian transaltion: translated also the SQL file
by Zeno Tajoli 18 Feb '10

18 Feb '10

Hi to all, I have finished to translate all SQL defintion files into italian. I send those files to 3.0 RM and to 3.0 Translation Manager Those files are under the dir ../installer/data/mysql/<lang_code> The lang code for italian is it-IT. I hope there will be present into 3.0.6 version. If you can't wait, you can ask me the files. To use them you need also to install the patch for the bug 4196. The patch is here: http://lists.koha.org/pipermail/koha-patches/2010-February/005601.html Bye Zeno Tajoli CILEA - Segrate (MI) tajoliAT_SPAM_no_prendiATcilea.it (Indirizzo mascherato anti-spam; sostituisci quanto tra AT con @)

Unless you changed the koha username for mysql, it is 'kohaadmin' rather than 'koha' If you did, it appears there may be a permissions issue in mysql. Log in to mysql using your 'koha' user and check 'SHOW GRANTS;' Kind Regards, Chris

Can Koha server software be installed on a Windows server and have a remote computer on the network run the actual circulation system realm including the incorporation of a barcode reader? Can the barcode reader/circulation system also work on a Mac or would it need to be Windows? Thanks! If not, I'll try to >forward-port the 3.0.x versions to HEAD. I don't have version for 3.2 but I will create them. MARC frameworks are OK. System preferences need to use a .po file in 3.2 Others files need update I have transalte only Unimarc frameworks because italian libraries use MARC21 very little. I probably send files for 3.2 betweeen 15-30 March 2010. Bye Zeno Tajoli CILEA - Segrate (MI) tajoliAT_SPAM_no_prendiATcilea.it (Indirizzo mascherato anti-spam; sostituisci quanto tra AT con @)
