by Nicole Engard 14 Apr '10

14 Apr '10

Hello all, As many of you know I have been pretty sick and have let my newsletter responsibilities slide this month. That said, I still have 2 days to get it out on time and for that I need some articles. So please send me your Koha news today so I can get the newsletter out on time!! Remember, articles can be as short as 2 lines, we're just looking for news from Koha libraries and about Koha in general. Thanks a bunch! Nicole C. Engard

Re: [Koha] Updating Koha
by Amber Amland 13 Apr '10

Darla, Yes, we did have to update our system. It depends on what version of Linux and Koha you already have. Since ours was 5 years old we needed a newer version of Linux and a computer that had more hard drive space than our old one. Our server computer is 8 years old and sometimes makes loud noises, so we wanted a newer server anyway. My question is about the system needs for Koha 3.0 Did you have to update the system you were using? I want to do the update, but my tech guy thinks we have to update to a newer/different Linux distro. local install for testing
by Lori Bowen Ayre 13 Apr '10

13 Apr '10

Hi All, I'm in the midst of buying a new computer and I want to be able to install my own copy of Koha and Evergreen. I was planning to get a dual boot system with Ubuntu. I would just want to be able to use my copies of Koha and Evergreen to learn the system better. Would this be the approach you would recommend? Or should I do it with virtual box or something more along those lines? Lori

hi, all. our librarian changed something (she does not know what) in the global preferences for circulation, and now we can't access any of the circulation preferences (all other preferences appear fine). when you select "circulation" in the preference list, the following error message appears. any idea what we need to do to repair this (or what is wrong)? any help is greatly appreciated! thanks in advance. Hello
by William Moody 12 Apr '10

I am just writing to introduce myself and my library. We have decided to work with Liblime on implementing Koha at our library and we are interested in keeping up with the community. My library name is The Rudofker Library. We are a special library located in a synagogue. We are located in Narberth, Pennsylvania. If you have any advice for us, feel free to share. Thanks The Staff
