Hello, i was using my laptop in institute which had a proxy server, made some changes to the /home/koha/opac/htdocs/opac-tmpl/prog/en/includes/masthead.inc file which was reflected on my OPAC page.. Came home, had to change the ip since koha was not working [changed 1. /etc/apache2/apache2.conf ServerName 127.0.1.1 2. gedit /etc/koha/koha-httpd.conf ## OPAC <VirtualHost 127.0.1.1:8086> ].. When i opened opac[127.0.1.1:8086/], the opac page looked normal(none of my changes existed) but the changes made to this file, did not change /home/koha/opac/htdocs/opac-tmpl/prog/en/includes/masthead.inc any ideas on Wat i should do to reflect the changes on the opac page?? Thank you..

Deleted items are showing up in the search results
by Sheldon T. 08 May '10

Hi All, We installed Koha 3.0.4 on Debian Lenny. We have started working with Koha 3.0.0 we made a comparison of Koha 3.0.0 and Koha 3.0.4 databases, there are very few differences, so we replaced the Koha 3.0.0 database with Koha 3.0.4. Now even after deleting all the biblios and biblioitems we are still seeing the deleted items. We tried to rebuild the zebra index with -a -b options. We're getting the following error, which is occurring: zebraidx (3075) [warn] index 'Heading-Main' not found in attset(s) With -b option alone rebuilding zebra indexes is not giving any problems, but still the deleted items are still showing in the search results. Is your Koha 3 slow or fast?
by Marty 07 May '10

07 May '10

I really would like to know some reaction times for Koha 3. Our installation seems to take a minimum of 6 seconds for any operation - type in the name of a patron, it will take between 6 and 10 seconds to show up on screen. That time seems to be standard for most operations. In general it seems sluggish at best. I'd like to have some indication of how fast other installations are, if possible in a comparable configuration. We are running Koha 3.00.05 with Zebra on Debian Lenny, on a Pentium 4 box. Marty

Can someone tell me please exactly how to start on "Add a new subscription"? There are two boxes against "Biblio" (the second with brackets) and underneath Search for Biblio | Create Biblio. What do I put in what box and what is supposed to happen then? I think it's not working but I'd like to be sure! Unable to search
by Catherine Chambers 07 May '10

07 May '10

Hi there I have recently joined a library that is attempting to get Koha operational. Due to a number of factors, we decided to do a fresh installation of Debian and Koha to try a fix a few problems and gain some understanding of how the system works. We installed Debian Lenny and Koha 3.00.05, the installtion seemed to go fine. Before running ./rebuild_zebra -b -a -z we did a dump of the data from the previous installation (koha-3.00.04) and loaded it into the freshly created koha-3.00.05 database. I then ran rebuild_zebra and tried searching the opac only to be faced with "No Result found!" I get the same message when I try a catalogue search through the staff interface. Can anyone tell me something I may have missed? Or where I should be looking to find out what has gone wrong? Many thanks, Catherine Chambers Systems Librarian : Mzuzu University : Malawi

wiki.koha-community.org
by Galen Charlton 07 May '10

07 May '10

Hi, I am making a proposal for Equinox to host the new koha-community.org wiki. We will provide a virtual machine, bandwidth, backups, and system administration. Shell access and wiki administration access will be given to anybody who expresses a desire to help and who is known to me or another Koha project regular, though I reserve the right to boot anybody off in the unlikely event of abuse (i.e., spamming, destructive activity, attempts at network intrusion, or other anti-social behavior). As with the current wiki, anybody in the world will be able to create an account for themselves to edit the wiki. Thomas Dukleth has offered to work on the wiki, so he will be one of the people who has shell and wiki admin access to start. Email me if you want in on the fun. As part of our hosting proposal, I will do the following to ensure continuity of this wiki: * a backup of the wiki's data and files will be done nightly and the tarball made available for anybody to download. * if the wiki moves to a new host in the future, we will give the new host a copy of the Ganeti image of the VM Thomas has some ideas about the content and organization of the wiki, which I'll leave to him to propose, but I see a couple questions that may be worth answering first: * Do we want to take this opportunity to switch to MediaWiki (or $some_other_wiki), which can manage multiple languages better than DokuWiki? I'm personally open to any suggestion, but I'm happy to install the current version of DokuWiki and upgrade to MediaWiki or something else later. * Do we want to start the wiki's content from scratch? That would allow us start fresh with a clean organization of the information, and would also allow us to establish the GPL as the license for the new wiki from the get-go. I'd appreciate feedback on those questions and general feedback about the proposal. The VM should be up soon. Sporadic warning about 245 field not being filled in
by Kurt Bodling 06 May '10

06 May '10

Is this a known bug (or are we just a little buggy ourselves)? Every so often - and I haven't yet discerned a pattern - I import a record from OCLC, do a little local editing, and click my save record button only to see a warning message that reads: Can't save this record because the following field aren't filled : * Field 245 is mandatory, at least one of its subfields must be filled. All these imported records already have valid titles in the 245, naturally; and the only way around this seems to be to enter a blank space in one of the yet unused subfields in the 245. Doing that will allow me to save the record. If the imported record also already has something in the 245 $b, then I have to enter a blank space in the $c or $h ... whatever subfield hasn't already been used. Entering and deleting a blank space doesn't work. Deleting the record and re-importing it doesn't make a difference. We're on Koha 3.01.00.061 on a Linux server hosted by PTFS, with Zebra 2.0.34 Just wondering, Kurt Kurt A.
