shelf browser patch for Koha v. 3.00.01.005 - some trouble

Hello, We applied the patch to fix the bug that prevents the shelf browser feature of Koha 3.00.01.005 from working. Unfortunately, it just results in error messages (error 404) and does not fix the problem. Has anyone else had any trouble applying the patch and getting it to work? Is there a trick I am missing? We did reindex the database after applying the patch. Thanks! Amy C. Hi there, I've been trying to use kbarcode to print labels from the koha db. Does anyone have a php or perl script to populate the kbarcode db with the label information. thanks

Koha, ILL & FulfILLment™

Hi! A while back there was some talk about adding ILL-functionality to Koha, resulting in this wiki page: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=en:development:inter_library_loan Then Equinox announced the FulfILLment™ project: http://fulfillment-ill.org/ "FulfILLment will join the basic process of the scalable Evergreen library software with "connectors" to other integrated library systems creating a virtual union catalog for library systems or networks implementing FulfILLment." So my question is this: Do you think this project makes it unnecessary do develop ILL-functionality tightly integrated into Koha? I can't help notice that the (brief) descriptions on the website seems to indicate that FulfILLment™ will only be useful among libraries that use FulfILLment™, there is no indication of talking to the world at large, using some of the protocols mentioned on our wiki page. This may be the result of FulfILLment™ being a sponsored project and the spec from the customer not saying anything about talking to the wider world. And since this is free software it will of course be possible to implement desired functionality once the source is out in the open. My second question: is this worth waiting for or is there enough ILL-momentum in Koha to implement the functionality without waiting for FulfILLment™? About KOHA Search functionalities & Data Migration

Hello all.... I am using KOHA 3.00.03 in Debian Lenny. I have not looked into new versions of KOHA and I don;t know if the following features are there. I just wanted to know if it is possible to list all the records in the library in a single search. I mean to say that is there a function like "List all Records". I have a requirement from client that what if they want to keep all their records sorted Alphabetically and get them Printed in sheets so that they know what records are available. I think this kind of feature is not available in KOHA right now. If this is available please tell me where is it located. If not available then I'd like to start making one such function, please give me some guidelines as where to start. Another request I got was the ability to export all the records into Document format. I guess that is not possible because the records are in MARC. I'd like to try that as well if it is acheiveable. Lastly, I'm facing a problem while entering a record in Nepali Unicode. While I try to save the record it gives an error saying "Wide Unicode Character", something like that. The Potential Death of Koha in Pennsylvania Libraries

I certainly don't know any details of what is planned in Pennsylvania. However the concerns expressed underline the need for seamless interconnection of disparate systems (and not only Koha and Evergreen) so that all libraries can be interconnected for resource sharing process. An interesting project is the open source project that Equinox is developing for the state of Ohio to interconnect different ILS systems. Ohio is paying for the primary programming but the intent is that other states can utilize that software at a modest cost for the programming to connect their states. However, I believe it will be based on the NCIP protocol. It would be useful for the Koha community to sponsor integration of the NCIP standard into Koha, so that we could utilize this connection option. Koha problems with zebra and opac searches after new bukmarcimport

All, We need a new bulkmarcimport this morning and everything looks wonderful in the staff client. The searches and links all work beautifully. However the opac searches pull up nothing. I double/triple checked and we do have some 942$n with suppressed in so that shouldn't be the problem. If I save titles a public list in the staff client, I can see those records and they appear as they should, except the links don't work, of course. In the koha-error_log I see repeated errors that are like: addbybiblionumber.pl: "my" variable $shelflist masks earlier declaration in same scope at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/virtualshelves/addbybiblionumber.pl line 106., referer: http://koha.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/virtualshelves/addbybiblionu… with only the biblionumber changing in the koha-opac-error_log the repeated error is opac-search.pl: Use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-search.pl line 405. hidelostitem & biblios without any item

Hi, an interesting question : if you set the hidelostitem syspref in Koha, then all biblios without any items ... are hidden as well. so, it's not only a matter of having an item declared "lost". In France/UNIMARC/our customers, there are sometimes biblios without any items (like websites). So, is it relevant to have this behaviour in hidelostitems ? The State Library her in Pennsylvania has started planning for a state-wide ILS. My Director, John Brice attended a tech committee netting this past Friday, bringing myself and Cindy Murdock as well. At the meeting, it was announced that HSLC and Equinox will be installing Evergreen in 33 libraries currently using Millennium. In all likelyhood, in the future all the libraries in the state will be required to switch over to Evergreen. Needless to say, my boss and myself are extremely upset by this proposition to say the least. I would applaud the choice of a FOSS ILS, but the choice would not bring any advantage. It appears to me to be a strictly financial decision. The idea being pushed at the meeting was to give libraries as little choice as possible to keep down costs. If we were forced to switch to Evergreen, not only would our huge investment in Koha via time and money be thrown away, but we would be forced into a new system over which we would be no control or ability to customize. We would have no control over the quality of service, as the servers are planned to be centralized somewhere within the state. I do not relish the idea of our current freedoms being taken away. labels and barcodes: name replaced by "patron" or "staff"?

Hi, As I try to get patron cards printing to a pdf in Koha 3 (not 3.1), no matter what I choose for layout, I never get names to print, just "patron" or "Staff" -- is this a feature?
