Even though the LDAP attribute is "givenName" I have to use "givenname" in the configuration to make it work. > > > Message: 1 > Date: Mon, 9 Aug 2010 14:29:29 -0400 > From: "Scott Owen" <sowen(a)edzone.net> > Subject: Re: [Koha] LDAP Authentication > To: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz > Message-ID: <4C6010C9.8081.000C.1(a)edzone.net> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" > > What you are describing, is exactly when the firstname is not mapped > correctly. > > I would: > > 1. [KOHA] Unable to do LDAP Authentication with Koha 3.1 Latest from HEAD/GIT [[[[[[Invalid Username or Password]]]]] Error
by Susan Mustafa 10 Aug '10

10 Aug '10

Dear Members, I need to do LDAP Authentication with the latest Koha version, but it does not work. [[[[Invalid Username or Password ]]]] *Below is a subsection of the koha-conf.xml file:* <config> <db_scheme>mysql</db_scheme> <database>koha</database> <database>koha</database> <hostname>localhost</hostname> <port>3306</port> <user>koha</user> <pass>koha</pass> <biblioserver>biblios</biblioserver> <biblioservershadow>1</biblioservershadow> <authorityserver>authorities</authorityserver> <authorityservershadow>1</authorityservershadow> <intranetdir>/var/www/koha-2010-08-04</intranetdir> <opacdir>/var/www/koha-2010-08-04/opac</opacdir> <opachtdocs>/var/www/koha-2010-08-04/koha-tmpl/opac-tmpl</opachtdocs> <intrahtdocs>/var/www/koha-2010-08-04/koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl</intrahtdocs> <includes>/var/www/koha-2010-08-04/koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/includes/</includes> <logdir>/home/mistuser/koha-dev/var/log</logdir> <pazpar2url>http://localhost:11002/search.pz2</pazpar2url> <install_log>/home/mistuser/koha-dev/misc/koha-install-log</install_log> <useldapserver>0</useldapserver> <memcached_servers></memcached_servers> <memcached_namespace></memcached_namespace> <useldapserver>1</useldapserver> <ldapserver id="ldapserver" listenref="ldapserver"> <hostname>10.111.20.20:389</hostname> <base>ou=MEEK,dc=meek,dc=ca</base> <user>CN=KOHA SSO,OU=Staff,OU=Users,OU=MEEK,DC=meek,DC=ca </user> <pass>P@ssword123</pass> <replicate>1</replicate> <update>0</update> <auth_by_bind>1</auth_by_bind> <principal_name>%s(a)meek.ac.ca</principal_name> <mapping> <firstname is="givenname" ></firstname> <surname is="sn" ></surname> <address is="postaladdress" ></address> <city is="l" >Calgary, Canada</city> <zipcode is="postalcode" ></zipcode> <branchcode is="">meek</branchcode> <userid is="samAccountName" ></userid> <password is="" ></password> <email is="mail" ></email> <categorycode is=""></categorycode> <phone is="telephonenumber"></phone> <dateexpiry is=""></dateexpiry> </mapping> </ldapserver> </config> </yazgfs> Please note that I copied this portion of the LDAP XML from my 3.0 Version[Production] which had LDAP Working and then I added the extra <Principle_name> thing to the xml. What else do I have to do after changing this koha-conf.xml file? Kindly note, that this info of authentication works, because it worked on the 3.0 before but not on the HEAD/Git. Its copy paste + <principle_name> tag. I checked the error logs, both produce nothing, which is very very odd. The only error I get happens on screen and it is [[[Invalid Username and Password]]]] Kindly awaiting a reply. This is really important. Best Regards,

Hi Everyone, Couple of questions: 1. I have e-Books stored on a server they are accessible by a server path such as \\ZEUS\Ebooks\Robert A. Heinlein\Friday (9178)\Friday - Robert A. Heinlein.lit I add this in as a URL however whenever anyone clicks on a link it redirects to http://olympus/cgi-bin/koha/%5C%5CZEUS%5CEbooks%5CRobert%20A.%20Heinlein%5C… can anyone suggest a good way of getting around this minor issue :) 2. I have quite an extensive eBook collection that I need to import any recommendations for how I could achieve this easily I have a list of the titles and their paths but unsure of a way to import them. What you are describing, is exactly when the firstname is not mapped correctly. I would: 1. Verify that the field can be populated. To do the I would hard code a generic firstname in the field. ie: <firstname is="" >John</firstname> This should always populate the firstname field (in borrowers) with "John". 2. Use a tool like the Softera LDAP browser to make sure you can browse the LDAP directory, and that the user you browse with has "read" rights to that attribute. 3. Double check that you are using the correct attribute mapping. The softera LDAP browser will show the LDAP mapping, depending on your directory this could be different. In my case (Novell eDir) I must use the "givenname" attribute. >>> Sabine Grabner<sabine.grabner(a)fhv.at> 8/9/2010 9:33 AM >>> Hello, I have set up LDAP authentication which works fine. However, when the user is added to table 'borrowers', the attribute 'firstname' is not being populated, even though the mapping is configured appropriately. Any ideas to fix this issue are welcome. Stuck Items in Reservoir
by Paul Davis 09 Aug '10

09 Aug '10

Hello; Moved database from old server to new and everything looks great. However, we have items stuck in the reservoir. Not sure if there is a bad record that is holding things up, but there are multiples of the same (I think the librarian was trying over and over again). This problem was on the old server and continues here. Is there a way to clear the reservoir or remove multiples? We can add the ones we need by doing a search and clicking "add" when we find them in the reservoir, but we would like to get rid of the bogus, bad and multiple entries in the reservoir. I have read and searched and I am having trouble finding a definitive answer.
