Problem With Sorting in Search Results

Koha version: 3.01.00.145 Zebra version: Zebra 2.0.44 MySQL version: mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.51a, for debian-linux-gnu One of our staff users reports that she types "johnston" into the patron search field on the staff interface. This produces 10 pages of results, but not the desired patron named Jessica. That name did not show up - it jumped from Jesse to Joan. However, if the user went in and typed "johnston, jessica", it came up. Also, later she had a different patron's record up and tried the search again with "johnston". That brought up the 10 pages of Johnstons again, but each page was alphabetical for the names displayed on that page - so each page started over with an "A" name and so on, but the names on each page were different and apparently non-repeating. We have a cron job set to rebuild zebra every 2 minutes. This is repeatable--she has demonstrated it to me a couple of times. Ideas? -- Greg Lawson Rolling Hills Consolidated Library 1912 N. Search portal for multiple libraries

Hi folks, A group of libraries using Koha in Kenya are intending to set-up a portal where one can search multiple OPACs simultaneously. How can this be done? I need some advice on how to implement this. I will be very grateful if someone here has ideas or has tried to do it before and succeeded. Thanks. Dont have place on hold buttons

Hi, I install koha 3.00.06 (last stable official version). I dont have Place on hold button in client interface. In admin interface i get message that no copy can be place on hold. Please help.

Multiple bulk imports

Has anyone done their bulk imports in batches? We've got different collections that are in separate databases. I was planning to import each collection separately, because there are slightly different things that have to be done to the data in each collection. But there's a catch (isn't there always). There are duplicate copies of some the same items across the collections. It seems logical that they should share the same biblio, and have the location, and collection information at the item level. How does this work if you are importing the different collections in sequence? A lot of our stuff pre-dates ISBN so even identifying them may be a trick. authority plugin & indicators

Hello! While adding/editing a bibliographic record, when I use the authority plugin and insert the content of an authority record into a bibliographic record (e.g. PERSO_NAME --> bibliographic 100 field), the indicators doesn't copy (i.e. ind1=1 for surname in authority 100 field doesn't appear in bibliographic). What am I doing wrong? Or this is the way KOHA behaves? If so, shouldn't this behavior be modified? Thanks in advance. Cheers! Janusz

Koha does not run with chromium browser

Dear Friends, I am facing a strange issue regarding Koha with Chromium browser in Lubuntu 10.04. My purpose is to build a live cd for low capacity system (256 MB RAM). I installed Koha successfully in Lubuntu. Koha run successfully in Chromium browser, but it does not work when Internet connection disabled. I got the message in browser This webpage is not available. The webpage at *http://127.0.0.1:8000/* might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Unable to add new item types...
