error message while doing z39.50 search
by Shelley & Kurt Kemperman 05 Jan '11

05 Jan '11

While doing z39.50 searches today, I was getting an error message for some books. When I typed the ISBN and hit search, this is what I saw: Koha Error The following fatal error has occurred: Wide character in null operation at /usr/share/per15/MARC/Charset/ Table.pm line 96. I can't seem to find a whole lot about error messages in the manuals. The 2 groups of books that were giving me trouble were Harry Potter books and American Girl books. Any advice? Thanks, Shelley

restore with 2 week old backup
by Rachel Hollis 05 Jan '11

05 Jan '11

Greetings friends, approximately two weeks ago one or more of the staff removed data from our Koha 3.01 database. We now have items separated from borrowers. As far as I can guess, the delete all items function was used while viewing biblios and items that were checked out were also deleted. When viewing an affected borrower record, a due date appears but not item information. When browsing the catalog, the total number of items displays along with numbers available and numbers checked out but the numbers are not correct. We can restore from a backup but we'd lose about two weeks worth of work. Is there another solution? adding target catalogs to search engine
by Caitlin McGurk 05 Jan '11

Hello Koha, Two questions: How does one add a specific library catalog to the search targets, that isn't already there? Also, does anyone find that they regularly get a response from NYPL's catalog that holds a record but says "system error" as the holding? Thank you! Hmm, it could be that one record is corrupt, are you editing an existing one? Does it show up in normal search and is ok if you click on it? Scan Indexes results
by Elaine Bradtke 04 Jan '11

04 Jan '11

Koha 3.2.2 staff interface. Advanced search I was trying to figure out what the little box Scan Indexes does. So I ran a search on a term I know to be in the collection (sharp). It appears to bring up a list of terms based on fuzzy logic that may be related to the term you entered. So far so good. But when I clicked on a term (being blue and underlined, they look clickable) I was given the following message: No results match your search for 'kw,wrdl: "sharp"' - There were supposedly 58 instances of the word sharp in the database. kw is keyword wrdl (I'm guessing) wordlist? Am I missing something or is it a bug? I assumed that clicking on sharp would have run a keyword search on that term.
