Alternatively, you could start a discussion on the email list or web forum. * Advanced cataloging search RFC o This idea would add to the Cataloging search accessible under the “More” menu on the Koha staff side the same advanced search options that you find on the Search > Advanced Search page. * Bibliographic searches within acquisitions RFC o Upgrading the search within acquisitions to search catalogue, reservoir and Z39.50 sources consistently, without it being a choice between them. In a way, this might be like adding “Catalogue” and “Reservoir” to the Z39.50 search sources tickboxes. * EAN reading RFC o If this happens, scanning a book barcode to result in a correct ISBN search. It looks like this work is currently being done only for Solr (see below). Do Zebra users want it too? Are there problems in autodetecting EANs which should be considered? * Improvements to Authority Searching o Add the ability to search for multiple terms from multiple authorities simultaneously. * Improving searches on orders RFC o Adding new fields to acquisitions history searches: order date: beginning; end, reception date: beginning; end, library branch, vendor, librarian, budget, budget’s authorized value #1, budget’s authorized value #2. * Search authorities using keywords from same menu as keyword search RFC o Allowing patrons to search authorities using the same drop down list as for keyword searches and showing authorities matches in search results pages as suggested search terms. * Storing queries RFC o This idea would allow users to save their past searches. * Switch to Solr RFC o This suggests replacing the small C Zebra indexing server with the larger Java Solr one. It may enable some things to work better, at the cost of much memory and adding Java to Koha. But it’s difficult to follow the template tags which are HTML comments : ““. In the last version of Eclipse, “Helios”, the syntax coloring of HTML Editor offers for HTML comments a customization of both content and delimiters. We use this to highlight the comment’s content and have a better view of template tags. Koha install problems on Windows

Hi, I am encountering a problem in the installation of Koha on windows(XP) After the successful installation of Perl, when I proceed with Koha, the installation stops at 'Unpacking MARC-charset-0.92' I left the system for more than 5 hours yesterday,but the installation did not happen. When I terminated the cmd.exe window, i got the message that Koha is successfully installed. But while cataloguing I find the Marc framework is missing which may not have got installed because of this problem. Can anyone suggest any solution on this. The versions of the softwares I am using are given below. Apache(apache_2.0.47-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi) mysql-4.0.18 ActivePerl-5.8.9.827-MSWin32-x86-291969.msi Koha2.2.9-W32-R1.EXE RAM on my system is 0.99 GB -- Nisar Fathima

Hello While installing koha 3.02.00 on ubuntu 10.10 after using command the following warning message appeared as I used command perl Makefile.PL Warning: prerequisite Business::ISBN 2.05 not found. Warning: prerequisite Memoize::Memcached 0.03 not found. Warning: prerequisite PDF::API2::Simple 1 not found. Warning: prerequisite Storable 2.21 not found. We have 2.20. Warning: prerequisite Text::CSV::Encoded 0.09 not found. Holds Problem in koha 3.2

Hello all. I have installed koha 3.2.1 in Ubuntu 10.04. I have problems while placing hold. Whenever I try to place hold from OPAC, I get an error saying: Software error: > > Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Reserves.pm line 199. > > I checked the line, I found inline assignment to hash. I split the assignment so that declaring and assignment are done in 2 different lines, but still the error is same. What may be the problem? Moreover, while try to place hold on the same item through Staff Client says "No Items Available to Hold" while there already is items available. This seems to be a bug. Please help me. Searching by system number

If I'm not wrong, searching by system number can be done using sn:NNNN This works in the opac, but not in the staff client. How can I search by system number in the staff client? Thanks. Stefano

We use a widget provided to us by DearReader.com which allows us to produce lists of books by isbn. Their service provides book jackets and descriptions that connect to koha. We have to update it manually each week, but it takes 5 minutes to do. Hi I am trying install KOHA on Ubuntu 10.10.
