opac search to display recent additions?
by Daniel Grobani 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

Hi, Is there a way to display in the opac only those titles added in the last 30 days? I've been fiddling with URL parameters and CCL queries using acqdate, so far without success. Thanks, Daniel Grobani Library Technology Specialist John A. What's best - virtual machine or normal installation?
by Marius Stoica 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

Hi there, Here, at Arad County Library, we are preparing to implement Koha, but recently the people with whom we work suggested that installing a virtual machine with Koha is a choice we can take into account. I specify that for implementing Koha we have a Fujitsu Siemens Primergy TX200S4, with Quad Core Intel Xeon E5420, 2.5 Ghz, 6GB RAM, mainboard with RAID controller, 2x750 GB HDD, Gigabit Ethernet card and around 200.000 SQL records data base. Is there any serious threat or disadvantage on using a virtual machine? Any ideas, suggestions are welcomed. Thanks! Warm regards? Marius S

Koha errors after upgrading to 3.02.05
by Linda Culberson 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

We upgraded to 3.02.05 today, and I can't seem to access any of the records or items in our catalog. The searches work, but when I select by title, I get "Can't call method "field" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Koha.pm line 1164" If I click on "edit record" I get "Can't call method "title" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 899." Selecting Edit items gives "Can't call method "fields" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 1975" The messages in the koha log file point to the same lines, for example: addbiblio.pl: Can't call method "title" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 899 My searches return the correct results. Error in the acquisitions framework
by sheldon_tappin 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

Hi All, I am encountering an error in the acquisitions module. I tested it before and I didn't encounter this error. However I truncated some tables namely: aquobasket, aquobooksellers and aquoders. I did this to remove the entries that I used to test the module. I added a new budget and I attached funds to the budget, I created new vendors and placed orders against them. I ordered a quantity of 4 items. After I received the first item I cannot receive the others, and also when I click on the title I'm getting an error. TI'm using in koha 3.2 http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n3400339/Screenshot-Koha_Error_-_Ice… Thank you in advance for your help Regards, Sheldon -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Error-in-the-acquisitions-framework-tp340… Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Label Creator
by Vitor Fernandes 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

Hi there. Now I have a label that prints the barcode with the correct dimensions and in the right place. The problem is that I want to put an image above the barcode, but there is no option the layout to do this (in the card creator it is possible to do this). There is any way to do this or any koha patch to solve? The label must have only the image and the barcode (which is already in the right place) Regards. Vitor Fernandes

Browsing the shelf is based on ?
by hansbkk＠gmail.com 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

When the user clicks on the "browse the shelf" feature, is that based solely on the call numbers? Or is there an interaction with the "source item's" branch/library, collection code, shelving location, item type or anything else? Does every item show on the "shelf", or just one per biblio? If the latter, how does Koha select which item shows?

Multi-Lingual Koha Policy Infrastructure
by massoud alshareef 25 Feb '11

25 Feb '11

Hello, As of Koha 3.2.x, we are using Koha as a single language policy ILS where marc bib tags, auth tags, policy descriptions are displayed in one language only at an instance, as shown below with our Arabic Koha 3.2.3 installed, where you will notice that in spite that the interface is in English (Left-to-Right) orientation but marc fields tags and policy elements descriptions are still displayed in Arabic. marc Bibliographic tags: http://alshafallah.maktabat-online.net/cgi-bin/koha/opac-MARCdetail.pl?bibl… marc Authority tags: http://alshafallah.maktabat-online.net/cgi-bin/koha/opac-authoritiesdetail.… <http://alshafallah.maktabat-online.net/cgi-bin/koha/opac-authoritiesdetail.…>Library, Branches Groups: http://alshafallah.maktabat-online.net:8080/cgi-bin/koha/admin/branches.pl I know that the issue of having Koha supporting more than one language for its marc fields tags and policy descriptive names in one instance has been raised before, but until today we are not sure if something had been done about or the issue is still in the pipelines for future Koha releases. Please, does anyone know more about this issue ? I recall that I have read in one of the Koha digest posts that a German Koha was built with English and German infrastructure to allow using either language in all of its user interface including marc tags and policy descriptive names. Thanks for any guidance on this. Thanks Massoud M. AlShareef, عالم الانجازات ينحاز دوماً مع المتفائلين The world of achievement has always belonged to the optimist! KnowledgeWare Technologies (P.O.
