Koha - problem with searches/zebra indexing in second instance
by Linda Culberson 12 Apr '11

12 Apr '11

All, We created a second instance of Koha using the instructions at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Installing_Multiple_Instances_of_Koha We dumped the data from our original instance and then reloaded it into the koha_test instance. We have tried to reindex several time by using rebuild_zebra.pl in koha_test /var/log/koha_test/koha-zebradaemon-output.log and koha-zebradaemon.err are both empty The error in koha-opac-error_log is HTML::Template::Pro:in TMPL_LOOP at pos 416: PARAM:LOOP:next_loop(0): callback returned null scope I think it was our install that had a problem because in koha-error_log I see for the date of the install: Thu Apr 07 15:04:37 2011] [error] [client X.X.X.X] [Thu Apr 7 15:04:37 2011] install.pl: C4::Installer::load_sql returned the following errors while attempting to load /usr/share/koha_test/intranet/cgi-bin/installer/data/mysql/en/mandatory/sysprefs.sql:, referer: http://koha_test.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/installer/install.pl [Thu Apr 07 15:04:37 2011] [error] [client X.X.X.X] [Thu Apr 7 15:04:37 2011] install.pl: Warning: something's wrong at /usr/share/koha_test/lib/C4/Installer.pm line 530., referer: http://koha_test.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/installer/install.pl [Thu Apr 07 15:04:38 2011] [error] [client X.X.X.X] [Thu Apr 7 15:04:38 2011] install.pl: C4::Installer::load_sql returned the following errors while attempting to load /usr/share/koha_test/intranet/cgi-bin/installer/data/mysql/en/mandatory/userflags.sql:, referer: http://koha_test.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/installer/install.pl [Thu Apr 07 15:04:38 2011] [error] [client X.X.X.X] [Thu Apr 7 15:04:38 2011] install.pl: Warning: something's wrong at /usr/share/koha_test/lib/C4/Installer.pm line 530., referer: http://koha_test.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/installer/install.pl [Thu Apr 07 15:04:38 2011] [error] [client X.X.X.X] [Thu Apr 7 15:04:38 2011] install.pl: C4::Installer::load_sql returned the following errors while attempting to load /usr/share/koha_test/intranet/cgi-bin/installer/data/mysql/en/mandatory/userpermissions.sql:, referer: http://koha_test.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/installer/install.pl Any insight/help would be appreciated. -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. KohaCon12
by Nicole Engard 12 Apr '11

12 Apr '11

I know that we're still planning KohaCon11 but we had mentioned that we should start early with the decision on where KohaCon12 would be held to give the next host country a bit more time to plan, also getting things planned a year in advance is a good idea for all future conferences. I just wanted to bring this topic back up so we can get things started. Nicole

Some Odd terminology
by Colin Campbell 12 Apr '11

12 Apr '11

I opened a bug (6148) re the odd terms 'Heading Ascendant' and 'Heading Descendent' offered to users in opac, the bug suggests replacing the terms with more natural language. Please chime in if you have better suggestions. Another bit of strange language that is hallowed by koha time but tends to surprise users when they encounter it is 'Edit as Duplicate' why not the usual 'Copy' any thoughts? Help needed finding info in non-indexed fields
by Elaine Bradtke 12 Apr '11

12 Apr '11

If I had understood at the outset that 561 was not searchable by mere mortals, I wouldn't have put important information in there. Live and learn. Now I'm trying to extract it, and put it somewhere else, specifically, in the item record, subfield 8. Before I do that, I need to know how to find the biblios with information in the 561 fields, and if possible, search by specific information in this field, so I can split them up into 'collections' Any help, in as plain, ordinary language as possible, would be most welcome. Unfortunately my IT guru is up to his eyeballs in his day job, and I need to fix this problem before it gets any bigger. Dear all Very interesting info on Kobli publish by the ministry, I have checked the ministry web and I have found more info on this, published in september 2.010, "nforme de evaluación del sistema integrado de gestión de bibliotecas Koha para las Bibliotecas de la Administración General del Estado", where they compare Koha with the library requirements of a ILS url: http://hdl.handle.net/10421/4711 It is a very interesting doc, just use Google Translator.... I do not really know If Kobli includes all the developments required by the doc.... KOBLI, a customized version of KOHA
by Vimal Kumar 11 Apr '11

11 Apr '11

Dear Friends, One of the good feature in KOBLI is that it can act as a digital repository. Many users would like to see digital repository feature in Koha. I hope that Koha developers can share the code and -- Vimal Kumar V. It seems like I'm very close to having an installation of 3.2.6, but I'm receiving the following error(s): not well-formed (invalid token) at line 119, column 5, byte 5167 at /usr/lib/perl5/XML/Parser.pm line 187 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 28. can you use apt-get install or synaptic package manager for 3.2.6?
by Suvarob 09 Apr '11

09 Apr '11

I've been trying to obtain the 3.2.6 package. The koha community wiki is useless. Nothing there has helped with apt-get. The site they direct you to won't work with apt-get. I've also tried to configure synaptic package manager to retrieve, but can't seem to get the repository identified correctly. This doesn't find anything, for example: http://debian.koha-community.org/koha/dists/ squeeze main . Can anyone give me either the full apt-get install command or give me the complete, correct formulation for the third party repositories that would enable synaptic to retrieve the packages? I know I can install this manually, but that's not the point. I know this should work using apt-get or synaptic and I'm bound and determined to accomplish that. Help!
