Koha 3.4.0 released
by Chris Cormack 25 Apr '11

25 Apr '11

Kia ora tatou The Koha development team is happy to announce the release of Koha 3.4.0. Koha 3.4.0 is a major feature release that contains major changes to underlying architecture (adoption of Template::Toolkit for templating) and performance enhancements (removal of item data from biblio records). These changes, in addition to the inclusion of many new features, mean a lot of new strings for translators to translate. For these reasons we recommend that people who are already running Koha in production delay their upgrade until 3.4.1, due May 22, to give the translators time to finish, and for the removing of item data to be streamlined. If you do wish to upgrade please make sure you read the UPGRADE section of the INSTALL document. The development team would like to thank all the people who have made this release possible. Please take time to read the release notes. Hi All, I am having the same problem with Authorities and linking with Bibliographic Record. Can someone help with this problem please? Kindest Regards, Joel From: martin caris <martin_caris(a)hotmail.com> Date: Mon, 18 Apr 2011 03:52:11 +0200 To: Koha List <koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> Subject: [Koha] No authorities linked! Hello, I have a problem with my authorities: I catalog my book in the framework and I save my bibliographic record, but when I see my authority record, no authorities are linked. How is it possible? Koha version: 3.02.05. Another question: is it possible to create, in the field 952 (copy field), my own subfields? Thank you. Can one get WYSIWYG interface for koha as a cms?
by Robert Lyon 21 Apr '11

21 Apr '11

Hi I've added the changes to make koha as a CMS ( seen here: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_as_a_CMS ) and I was wondering if anyone had made the Value field on the systempreferences.pl page use something like TinyMCE rather than a plain textarea box? Or if even that is possible? Any advice would be great Thanks Bob

Re: [Koha] Unable to login

Hi Ajesh This is a mysql problem. Your mysql root password is incorrect or not set. If you don't know what it is then do the following from a console: (I'm assuming here mysql is in its default place /var/lib/mysql) $ sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop # then just to be safe $ sudo kill `cat /var/lib/mysql/*.pid` Now create a text file called /root/mysql_credentials.txt We now modify it, in this example the password is reset to 'mysecret' This file should contain only the following lines UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD('mysecret') WHERE User='root'; FLUSH PRIVILEGES; Now start mysql in safe mode with the above file with the command below mysqld_safe --init-file=/root/mysql_credentials.txt & Your root password will now be re-set - you should delete the /root/mysql_credentials.txt file and restart mysql with /etc/init.d/mysql restart Job done :-) -- Kind Regards Peter Lorimer Software Engineer OSLO (Open Source ILS Systems) -----Original Message----- From: koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Reply-to: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz To: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: Koha Digest, Vol 66, Issue 52 Date: Fri, 22 Apr 2011 00:22:40 +1200 Send Koha mailing list submissions to koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz You can reach the person managing the list at koha-owner(a)lists.katipo.co.nz When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Koha digest..." We have recently installed the programme, and I have created and saved a number of records which I cannot then retrieve via the catalogue search. They also do not appear in the reservoir. I will be discussing this with the systems person here (who performed the installation), but having looked at threads on this list, it seems that the most likely cause of this is that there is an issue with zebra. Is this the case, so that I don't send this guy off on a wild goose chase?
