Koha: error in MARC Bibliographic Framework Test
by Linda Culberson 21 Apr '11

21 Apr '11

Thanks to both Fridolyn and Beverly, we now have no errors in our frameworks. I did have links to tab 10 in the other subfields besides 952. I really appreciate everyone's help and patience as I learn about Koha. It's a wonderful community. Records not being found
by James Beaton 21 Apr '11

21 Apr '11

Good Afternoon I suspect that the question I am posing relates to an indexing function within Koha. We have recently installed the programme, and I have created and saved a number of records which I cannot then retrieve via the catalogue search. They also do not appear in the reservoir. I will be discussing this with the systems person here (who performed the installation), but having looked at threads on this list, it seems that the most likely cause of this is that there is an issue with zebra. Is this the case, so that I don't send this guy off on a wild goose chase? Thanks Beverly for send me the SQL query. But this is retrieving only those titles which are issued on the given date. Where as I need to know that the titles which were on loan AS OF 2011-03-29. Hi, Thanks for the advice. I have dropped the idea of using koha2.2.9 on windows. I am currently trying to install koha3.2.6(which I got on unzipping koha-latest.tar.gz - a few days back). I am installing it on Ubuntu OS and hence following the installation steps mentioned at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Ubuntu But I am facing issue at the below mySql step 7 ************************************************************************* maxenna@maxenna-rfid:~$ mysqladmin -uroot -ppassword create kohadata mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)' maxenna@maxenna-rfid:~$ mysql -uroot -ppassword ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) ************************************************************************* Searched on web and saw that quite many people has this error, but I could not find a solution for the same. I also tried to give root privileges using "sudo -i", but still getting the same error. *********************************************************************** root@maxenna-rfid:~# mysql -uroot -ppassword ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) *********************************************************************** Could somebody suggest a way to get past this error. I don't believe the 2.2.x branch is being updated in any way. To keep up with bug fixes and enhancements, you really want to be on the version the Koha community is contributing to. koha: error in MARC Bibliographic Framework Test
by Linda Culberson 21 Apr '11

21 Apr '11

All, I had done 12 customized frameworks in Koha version 3.02.02.003 and at some point I made an error - and I'm embarrassed that I don't know when the error got in since I worked on them pretty much all at once. I have only the one error and it is: Item tag There is more than 1 MARC tag related to items tab (10) : 952,955,956,960,967,980,981,982,983,984,987,990,995,998. I've gone through every framework and don't use any of those fields except the 952. I did this sql statement to verify that was the case: SELECT distinct tagfield FROM `marc_subfield_structure` WHERE `tagfield` IN ('952', '955', '956', '960', '967', '980', '981', '982', '983', '984', '987', '990', '995', '998' ) AND `kohafield` LIKE 'items.%'; and the results was one row: 952. I've checked all the frameworks and even matched them against the demos so kindly posted on koha-community.org. I'm thinking that I may not be understanding what the error means, because I was assuming that it indicated that there might be a duplication in the koha link. Can someone tell me what I should be looking for? Thanks in advance. -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. O. List Cross Posting Trend
by Chris Nighswonger 20 Apr '11

20 Apr '11

Hi everyone, There seems to be a growing trend lately of cross posting to both the Koha user's and developer's list of questions which are usage related. Perhaps this is a good time to remind everyone to please post user questions to the user list and development/code questions to the developer's list in order to preserve each list from the clutter of the other. Only posts truly relevant to both audiences (like this one) should be cross posted. Thanks to all, both users and developers, for helping to make Koha the great ILS that it is! Issues with superlibrarian
by Zachary Spalding 20 Apr '11

20 Apr '11

I am currently using Koha 3.2.6 and have noticed some issues with a super librarian that I didn't see to have before. I have a user with the superlibrian permission assigned and about 15 independent catalogs in Koha. After the upgrade to 3.2.6 this person now is missing access to the full drop down list of locations when adding an item. They now have to set a home branch to access the location they want to assign the item too. Also when they go to delete an item they get a message that "The items do not belong to your branch". They have to set their home location to that branch or change the item to the branch they currently have defied as there home. Does anyone have any suggestions of what files I could edit to give the superlibrian more access? -- Zachary Spalding Systems Manager Southeastern NY Library Resources Council 21 S.
