Removal from list of Koha vendors
by Koustubha Kale 27 Nov '12

27 Nov '12

Hi all, It has been my privilege and pleasure to have worked on Koha. Through the great, friendly Koha community I have gained knowledge and friends throughout the world. I hope these bonds of friendship will continue in the future. And that I will get a chance to work with Koha once again. It is with great sadness I say that Anant Corporation partnership firm has been dissolved & it no longer provides support for Koha or any other software for that matter. Request you to please remove it from the list of Koha vendors. Regards, Koustubha Kale Anant Corporation Contact Details : Address : 103, Armaan Residency, R. W Sawant Road, Nr. Patrons in 3.8 - overwriting records and passwords
by Elaine Bradtke 27 Nov '12

27 Nov '12

I'm testing out various aspects of patron records before we start actually using them in the production site. Ours is a reference library, we don't circulate many items but we want to integrate the loans into our Koha catalogue. Our patrons are members of the society, and as memberships expire, or members move or change status (from student to adult, or adult to senior, etc.) we need to periodically update all the patron records (once a month would be ideal). This brings up a few questions: When you upload patron records and select overwrite, what exactly does it overwrite? Everything? Do the items loaned out to a particular patron stay attached to their record even as it is overwritten? The system generates user names and passwords. But how does anyone know what the password is? If I upload another set of patron records and overwrite the old one does it retain the old password? I'm imagining our situation is more akin to a school than a public library in that our patrons are short term (one year membership for most of them). I'm sure there's a way to deal with frequent batch changes in the patron records, but I don't want to add all the patrons into the production site until I'm sure I understand how it works. -- Elaine Bradtke Data Wrangler VWML English Folk Dance and Song Society | http://www.efdss.org Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 7AY Tel +44 (0) 20 7485 2206 (This number is for the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London, England. by Doug Kingston 26 Nov '12

Patch 8823 has introduce a bug (tracked in http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=9149) where C4/Biblio.pm calls a non-existent subroutine: GetAuthorizedHeading. This breaks bin/ link_bibs_to_authorities.pl. I have informed the author of the patch.

Re: [Koha] Problem in importing Patron Records
by Elaine Bradtke 26 Nov '12

I changed the date format to YYYY-MM-DD I also added a date to the patron records that didn't have them. I saved it as an ods file, and then closed it opened it and saved it as csv. None of these things worked. Same error messages. Elaine On Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 9:16 PM, Quoc Uy <nguyenquocuy_1102(a)yahoo.com> wrote: > Better give it a try. Do exactly as i say. Dear friends, We have installed the latest version of koha 3.8 and added packs for Armenian language. For the staff interface everything works well, but when we activate language for the OPAC, a strange error occurs. Below you can see the error text. ------------------------------ Software error: Template process failed: file error - parse error - doc-head-close.inc line 3: unexpected token (Տարբերակ) [% Տարբերակ %] at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Templates.pm line 127. ---------- Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Haik.

Re: [Koha] Need Information.
by Koustubha Kale 26 Nov '12

Dear Sir, Anant corporation no longer provides support for Koha. But to clarify to you about Koha and Liblime, Koha is a free and open source library software which is supported by the worldwide Koha community with its website at www.koha-community.org. Liblime Koha is a fork created by a private company and is supported only by that company. I urge you to consider the numerous benefits of a worldwide community supported software as against a version supported only by one vendor. I've marked a copy of this mail to the Koha community mailing list on which you will find many vendors/consultants highly capable of supporting you in your Koha implementation. I wish you all the best.. rhel/centos/scientific 6 repository for Koha?
by Doruk Fisek 26 Nov '12

Hi, I know there's a Debian repository for Koha, is there a RHEL/CentOS/Scientific 6 repository as well? It doesn't have to be official, a third party repo would do just as fine. Doruk -- Özgür Yazılım A.Ş. ~ # http://www.ozguryazilim.com.tr

overdue Report with guarantor name
by Marcel Sandow 25 Nov '12

25 Nov '12

Dear Koha community! At our school we started working with koha. One challenge is to get the appropriate overdue report. For each pupil we have assigned the responsible teacher as the guarator. What we would like to have is a overdue report like this (modified from the sql report library): SELECT p.guarantorid, p.surname, p.firstname, c.issuedate, c.date_due, (TO_DAYS(curdate())-TO_DAYS( date_due)) AS 'days overdue', b.title, i.barcode FROM borrowers p LEFT JOIN issues c ON (p.borrowernumber=c.borrowernumber) LEFT JOIN items i ON (c.itemnumber=i.itemnumber) LEFT JOIN biblio b ON (i.biblionumber=b.biblionumber) WHERE c.branchcode = <<branchcode>> AND (TO_DAYS(curdate())-TO_DAYS( date_due)) > 0 ORDER BY p.guarantorid ASC, p.surname ASC, c.date_due ASC but with the guarantor name not the ID number as the first column. Any hints for me how the proceed. Thanks in advance all the best Marcel
