Import holdings as a separate file to MARC bib. records
by Iming Chan 06 Jun '13

06 Jun '13

Dear all, I have successfully migrated MARC bib. records from our old system to Koha 3.12. The old system can only export holdings (items) in csv format, which I have successfully converted to MARC with Koha 952 tags (using MarcEdit). A few examples below: =LDR 00292nam a2200145Ia 45e0 =008 130605s9999\\\\xx\\\\\\\\\\\\000\0\und\d =952 \\$2ddc =952 \\$aCPL =952 \\$bCPL =952 \\$g7.95 =952 \\$o423.1 MACQ =952 \\$p30094000001781 =952 \\$tIn Manager's Office =952 \\$yBK =997 \\$c26 =LDR 00278nam a2200145Ia 45e0 =008 130605s9999\\\\xx\\\\\\\\\\\\000\0\und\d =952 \\$2ddc =952 \\$71 =952 \\$aMPL =952 \\$bMPL =952 \\$g72.50 =952 \\$oLS 025.32 ANG =952 \\$p30094000002920 =952 \\$yBK =997 \\$c51 =LDR 00278nam a2200145Ia 45e0 =008 130605s9999\\\\xx\\\\\\\\\\\\000\0\und\d =952 \\$2ddc =952 \\$aMPL =952 \\$bMPL =952 \\$g0.00 =952 \\$oPER 051 REA =952 \\$p10000032 =952 \\$t1999 Sept. =952 \\$yBK =997 \\$c78 =LDR 00277nam a2200145Ia 45e0 =008 130605s9999\\\\xx\\\\\\\\\\\\000\0\und\d =952 \\$2ddc =952 \\$aMPL =952 \\$bMPL =952 \\$g0.00 =952 \\$oPER 051 REA =952 \\$p10000033 =952 \\$t1999 Oct. =952 \\$yBK =997 \\$c78 Our old system Control Number is stored on 997$c tag and this number is also found in each of our holdings record. So it is logical to match holdings to bibliographic records using 997$c tag (instead of the ISBN 020$a or ISSN 022$a). So I have setup a new matching rule using 997$c in our Koha system. However, after I imported the holdings MARC file to the reservoir using the Staged MARC Import function, it informed me that no matches were found (when I have selected 997$c as the match point)! Have I missed something? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Re: [Koha] LDAP (Active Directory) Authentication broken after an upgrade to 3.12
by Mesfin Teshome 06 Jun '13

06 Jun '13

Dear all, Active directory authentication in Koha is no more working after an upgrade from Koha 3.10 to Koha 3.12. Here is my koha-conf.xml file <ldapserver id="ADserverFQDN" listenref="ADserverFQDN"> <hostname>ldap://ADserverFQDN:389</hostname> <base>DC="domain",DC="domain"</base> <user>cn="######",DC="domain",DC="domain"</user> <pass>########</pass> <replicate>1</replicate> <update>1</update> <auth_by_bind>1</auth_by_bind> <principal_name>%s@"domain"</principal_name> <mapping> <firstname is="givenname"></firstname> <surname is="sn"></surname> <address is="postaladdress"></address> <city is="l"></city> <zipcode is="postalcode"></zipcode> <branchcode is="branch">CPL</branchcode> <userid is="samAccountName"></userid> <password is="userpassword"></password> <email is="mail"></email> <categorycode is="employeetype"></categorycode> <phone is="telephonenumber"></phone> </mapping> </ldapserver> What is this update about "7973 Allow for new type of LDAP authentication"? My koha-conf.xml was working fine before the upgrade. Mesfin

Utf-8 portguese special chars
by rafael 06 Jun '13

06 Jun '13

Hi everyone, I have a doubt about making koha display special chars in portugues. I have done the configurations in mysql and apache to utf-8 as described in the wiki. But what I find strange is that in the same screen there are chars that are correctly displayed, while others aren't. For example, in the image pasted in ( http://snag.gy/AkzLd.jpg ) I get the same portugues word "Preferência" displayed correctly and as preferência ... I have battled a lot with utf-8 in my life, but isn't it strange that in the same page exists this discrepancy? Thanks, Rafael

KohaCon 13 Registration Page
by Keener, Nancy 05 Jun '13

05 Jun '13

We have been having some trouble with the registration page for KohaCon 13. So far 63 people have registered and have had confirmations sent. If you have registered after May 30th, it may take a few days for your confirmation to arrive. If you don't receive a confirmation, please email me directly, and I will make sure we have your information. The conference is shaping up nicely, and I think you will find it worth the trip. A call for sponsorship will be coming out shortly. I look forward to meeting you all. Nancy Keener Systems Librarian I.T.O.S.C. Debian Wheezy

Dear Community, How r u all. I upgraded Squzee to Wheezy well with koha 3.10.5. But when I upgraded koha-3.10 to 3.12 , its all features loaded well, and when indexing (rebuild zebra) is run, it looks works well. But the thing is when I search on opac or staff interface, it does not show results. After that when it (search) does not work well, I did fresh install of Wheezy, still the same problem arises. Could anyone please help me out what the problem is on.
