Koha SIP Server Telnet keeps "timing out" upon login.
by Scott Kushner 14 Jun '13

14 Jun '13

I keep getting error message, "Telnet Login timed out at SIPServer.pm line 220". Has anyone seen this error or know what it is? I don't think it is because I have the wrong branch listed in my SIPconfig.xml, because it has worked before, but all of a sudden, it has stopped working. This is from a git koha install, vers 3.10. I have used all possible institution ID's that I can think of, and it still doesn't work. Is there something else going on here? error on import Marc Record from z39.50 servers listed in Koha
by Mesfin Teshome 13 Jun '13

13 Jun '13

Hi all, This is just a follow up on my earlier request for support. Is anyone having problems like this. I need to know because many more books are showing up with this error "Software error: Can't call method "data" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/AuthoritiesMarc.pm line 273." If I try to import this same books and save in Koha 3.8, I don't get any error messages. Mesfin Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2013 12:05:29 -0700 (PDT) From: Mesfin Teshome <mesfinatyh(a)yahoo.com> To: "koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz" <koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> Subject: [Koha] error on import Marc Record from z39.50 servers listed in Koha Message-ID: <1370631929.95126.YahooMailNeo(a)web126106.mail.ne1.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Dear all, I am continuing to have some challenges with Koha 3.12. Our librarians are facing some errors when they try to import Marc Records from z39.50 servers in Koha and save. Importing goes ok but when they click save Koha throws the error below. This behavior is not consistent. It happens with some books and does not happen with others. I tried searching and importing the Marc records for this books on Koha 3.8 and import and save works fine without an error. ?The error Koha throws is:? Software error: Can't call method "data" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/AuthoritiesMarc.pm line 273. Some of the books are: * The Political writings of St. Augustine * Calvin's Calvinism What should I be looking at to troubleshoot this problem. ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha End of Koha Digest, Vol 92, Issue 12 ************************************

RE : Zebra Indexing problem with upgrade
by Eric Bégin 12 Jun '13

12 Jun '13

David, Since you can search for the record before launching rebuild_zebra tells me that their is at least one indexation process that is working. I would look at the content of your /etc/init.d/koha-zebra-queue.sh (name may varies) to see what this script is doing that is not done by manually call the rebuild_zebra. Cheers! Eric www.inLibro.com -------- Message d'origine -------- De : David Whelchel <whelchel(a)pullman.com> Date : 29/05/2013 20:43 (GMT-05:00) À : koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Objet : [Koha] Zebra Indexing problem with upgrade Hi All, I am another person with a problem when upgrading Koha that items disappear from search. I have read faithfully the news groups and have tried the suggestions found there concerning zebra indexing and search using marc21 with no success. I am upgrading from 3.08.01.002 to 3.10.06 on Debian Squeeze obsessively following the instructions in the INSTALL.debian section for the upgrade. I have detailed notes of what I have done and found but in a nutshell. 1) Download and extract koha-3.10.06.tar.gz 2) Check and install cpan dependencies 3) Make the upgrade a. perl Makefile.PL --prev-install-log /usr/share/koha/misc/koha-install-log b. make c. make test d. sudo make upgrade 4) verified the environment variables 5) updated the database from the web admin client. At this point I can go into either the OPAC or ADMIN client and successfully search. BUT once I execute any rebuild_zebra.pl command (all finish without any errors) upon searching the search results show the number of items returned but each item shows "Availability: No copies available". I have used many permutations of the rebuild_zebra.pl command. The one that seems to be recommended most is " /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -v -r -a -b -x ". If I edit an existing marc record I can see that volume until I run the rebuild_zebra.pl command again. I have been returning to this problem on an off for the better part of a year. I have gone to the extent of verifying any number of problems raised in the koha lists (such as making sure that there are no duplicate Field 001 values in the db) and would appreciate any help. Automate adding 1 item per bib record
by kohanoob 12 Jun '13

12 Jun '13

Hi all, Greetings! I'm a koha noob, using koha 3.12 I've managed to import / stage about 1000 bib records after a few attempts. Earlier import resulted in 1000 bib records with about 5000 item records. After opting to 'Ignore' Item Processing durning staging, I have 1000 bib records. Now I need to add 1 item record per bib record. Is there any way to automate this? Could you pl guide me / point me to resources in this regard? Thank you. Sincere, warm regards Spurgeon -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Automate-adding-1-item-per-bib-record-tp5… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Sir, I am from Bhutan. I have been facing problem in my Koha system. Kohacon 2014 proposals
by Mirko 12 Jun '13

12 Jun '13

Dear all, it is time to start thinking about the location of Kohacon 2014. If you are interested in hosting the conference, make sure to check * the general Wiki page on Koha conference bidding: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_Conference_Bidding * proposals for other years to get an impression of what people would like to know about location and dates: ** Kohacon 2011: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/KohaCon2011_Proposals#Summary_Table ** Kohacon 2013 http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Kohacon2013 Please keep in mind we have a rule to change continents every year, so with Kohacon 2013 taking place in Reno, applications from North America should be postponed to 2015. So far we had/will have conferences in 2006 Paris, France 2009 Plano, USA 2010 Wellington, NZ 2011 Thane, India 2012 Edinburgh, UK 2013 Reno, USA - - 2014 Your place, World If you are interested in hosting the conference, please tell us about it on this mailing list and add a summary to http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/KohaCon2014_Proposals It does not have to be complete from the beginning, you can still add information later. The most important things clearly are location and proposed time. So far we had conferences in April, May, June and 3x in October, as it will be this year. It looks like having 3 days of conference, 1 day off and 3 days of hackfest is the preferred conference schedule. One last note: the conference has always been free of charge and it is supposed to stay that way. Looking forward to your proposals, Mirko

Unable to log in as Koha admin
by gmcgath 12 Jun '13

12 Jun '13

I've installed an experimental instance (called "kohalib") of Koha (3.12) on an Ubuntu/Debian system. I went by the information at (http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Debian#Initial_Configuration) which may be out of date, since I had to follow up with a lot of hand configuration to get things right. I finally got to the point of being able to bring up the admin page in my browser. The prompt on the admin login says: "Welcome to the Koha web installer ... Please log in with the username and password given to you by your systems administrator and located in your koha-conf.xml configuration file." The only username in /etc/koha/sites/kohalib/koha-conf.xml is kohauser, which occurs four times, none identified as administrative, and all have the same computer-generated password. When I try to log in with it, the same page just comes up again. There's no error message. Doing some searches suggests there should be an administrative user called kohaadmin with a password of "katikoan" by default. That doesn't work either. The setup may simply have failed to set up an admin user at all. If so, is there a way for me to fix this? I may be so deep into hand corrections that I should just start over again, but in that case is there a better set of instructions for installation? -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Unable-to-log-in-as-Koha-admin-tp5757950.… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
