koha- "make test fails" - help
by satish 04 Jun '13

04 Jun '13

Hello, I have installed koha 3.12 on Debian Squeeze ( idzebra has been installed manually) It is failed duing make test, but many previous mails in this forum suggested to skip this step (ignoring make test report), and go head with make install. currently, make install was successful and koha is working fine. Does this create any problem in specific in near future? since we are on production system, is it safe for me to continue? kindly provide your advice. make test report log. --------------------------------- t/Labels.t (Wstat: 11 Tests: 1 Failed: 0) Non-zero wait status: 11 Parse errors: Bad plan. Problems with Text::CSV_XS and t/Labels.t
by Doug Kingston 04 Jun '13

04 Jun '13

My last install was on 3.10.02 and all was well with the set of Perl modules had then, which included Text::CSV_XS-0.85. As I prepared to build 3.10.06, I upgraded my Perl modules as some additions were required in any case. After the cpan upgrades, 'make test' was failing for both my 3.10.02 and 3.10.06 build trees. t/Labels.t would just exit after running the first sub-test (use). After a couple of days, I have tracked this down to a change in Text/CSV_XS.pm: *** Text-CSV_XS-0.85/blib/lib/Text/CSV_XS.pm 2011-09-07 12:34:16.000000000 +0100 --- .cpan/build/Text-CSV_XS-0.97-cJDgOc/blib/lib/Text/CSV_XS.pm 2013-03-30 14:58:47.000000000 +0000 *************** ... (in the subroutine 'parse') ... *************** *** 492,498 **** my $fflags = []; $self->{_STRING} = \$str; if (defined $str && $self->Parse ($str, $fields, $fflags)) { - $self->{_ERROR_INPUT} = undef; $self->{_FIELDS} = $fields; $self->{_FFLAGS} = $fflags; $self->{_STATUS} = 1; I further tracked this down to the most recent change (0.96 -> 0.97 around March 30th, 2013). The changelog says: diff Text-CSV_XS-0.96/ChangeLog .cpan/build/Text-CSV_XS-0.97-cJDgOc/ChangeLog 0a1,5 > 0.97 - 2013-03-30, H.Merijn Brand > * Regain the speed from 0.91 (buffer back to 1k) > * Minor cleanup in XS code > * Add diag_verbose attribute > I guess this qualifies as a minor cleanup if you assume people won't call error_input on no error condition. The error from t/Labels.t is a segmentation fault when calling $csv->error_input() in Labels/Label.pm. sub _get_text_fields { my $format_string = shift; my $csv = Text::CSV_XS->new({allow_whitespace => 1}); my $status = $csv->parse($format_string); my @sorted_fields = map {{ 'code' => $_, desc => $_ }} map { $_ eq 'callnumber' ? 'itemcallnumber' : $_ } # see bug 5653 $csv->fields(); my $error = $csv->error_input(); warn sprintf('Text field sort failed with this error: %s', $error) if $error; return \@sorted_fields; } I think there is an error here in _get_text_fields where it calls $csv->error_input() when there was no error. In the past, it would get an undef, but the the more recent CSV_XS.pm module, the attribute is not defined at all and it seg faults. I think error_input() should only be called if $status != 1. Comments? I think this is a Koha bug. Revertion to Text::CSV_XS-0.96 resolves the problem until we fix Koha. Regards, -Doug-

need manual confirmation
by Nicole Engard 04 Jun '13

04 Jun '13

Hello all, I have never done this before, but I got an email telling me to update this: $ zebraidx -c /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-authorities-dom.cfg -g iso2709 -d authorities init $ zebraidx -c /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg -g iso2709 -d biblios init on this page: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.12/en/resetzebra.html to this: $ sudo zebraidx -c /etc/koha/sites/*library*/zebra-authorities-dom.cfg -g iso2709 -d authorities init $ sudo zebraidx -c /etc/koha/sites/*library*/zebra-biblios.cfg -g iso2709 -d biblios init where *library* was the koha site (installation) name. Can I get some confirmation that this is how it is for everyone and not just a local setup thing? Nicole

Zebra Indexing problem with upgrade
by David Whelchel 04 Jun '13

04 Jun '13

Hi All, I am another person with a problem when upgrading Koha that items disappear from search. I have read faithfully the news groups and have tried the suggestions found there concerning zebra indexing and search using marc21 with no success. I am upgrading from 3.08.01.002 to 3.10.06 on Debian Squeeze obsessively following the instructions in the INSTALL.debian section for the upgrade. I have detailed notes of what I have done and found but in a nutshell. 1) Download and extract koha-3.10.06.tar.gz 2) Check and install cpan dependencies 3) Make the upgrade a. perl Makefile.PL --prev-install-log /usr/share/koha/misc/koha-install-log b. make c. make test d. sudo make upgrade 4) verified the environment variables 5) updated the database from the web admin client. At this point I can go into either the OPAC or ADMIN client and successfully search. BUT once I execute any rebuild_zebra.pl command (all finish without any errors) upon searching the search results show the number of items returned but each item shows "Availability: No copies available". I have used many permutations of the rebuild_zebra.pl command. The one that seems to be recommended most is " /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -v -r -a -b -x ". If I edit an existing marc record I can see that volume until I run the rebuild_zebra.pl command again. I have been returning to this problem on an off for the better part of a year. I have gone to the extent of verifying any number of problems raised in the koha lists (such as making sure that there are no duplicate Field 001 values in the db) and would appreciate any help. Need reports help
by Elaine Bradtke 03 Jun '13

I have the following report: SELECT biblio.biblionumber,biblio.author,biblio.title,biblio.datecreated FROM items LEFT JOIN biblioitems on (items.biblioitemnumber=biblioitems.biblioitemnumber) LEFT JOIN biblio on (biblioitems.biblionumber=biblio.biblionumber) WHERE items.homebranch='VWML' AND DATE_SUB(CURDATE(),INTERVAL 7 DAY) <= biblio.datecreated ORDER BY biblio.title ASC But it only returns information if there are item records attached, what I really want is a list of everything catalogued. A lot of our biblios don't have items attached. new fiscal year
by Kohn, Karen 03 Jun '13

03 Jun '13

Hello, I'm having trouble remembering how to create a new fiscal year and copy our open orders from the old year into the new one. We do get support from ByWater, so I'm sure Nicole will respond quickly, but I figured I'd hit more people by posting it to the list. I duplicated one budget to create a new one but don't see how to copy the orders. 3.12 Staged MARC Import Problem?
by Iming Chan 02 Jun '13

02 Jun '13

Dear all, Just tried to upload a MARC file in 3.12 and have successfully get it into the "reservoir" (1st stage). These MARC records don't have 952 (holdings) details as our old system exported them on a separate file (csv format). However, when I tried to batch import (2nd stage) into the catalogue, the horizontal progress bar just shows 0% and nothing happened (including the status just shows "Staged"). So I decided to upload another MARC file (downloaded directly from a national database without a 952 (holdings) details) that was successfully uploaded into a Koha demo site in Europe (running 3.10 though) a few weeks earlier, encountered the same problem as above. Your assistance is much appreciated.
