Hi, in my opinion, the error is not related with koha-error_log line. The connection time out often depends on the Z39.50 target, or on your firewall. HTH. Problem in advanced search

Hi everybody, I have installed Koha 10.5 (UNIMARC) in Centos 6.3 here http://biblio2.berneri.apiedelibero.net/ If I search for (in the normal search box) "kropotkin" I get the result but If I search for the same word in the advaced search, choosing the Library "Biblioteca Circolo Anarchico Berneri", I get no results. I have already talked about this problem in irc without finding a solution. Unfortunately it seems that there aren't useful logs. Please, can someone help me? Thank you in advance, Gio

Analytics in 3.10 - is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I've been experimenting with 'Easy Analyticals' UseControlNumber preference is set to "Don't use" and the EasyAnalyticalRecords preference is set to 'Display.' I created a record, and then selected New child record and created an analytic. Then, following the instructions in the manual Chapter 5 http://es.koha-community.org/manual/3.10/en/cataloging.html#cataloganalytics I linked the analytic to the host item. This results in two 773 fields. The first (created when adding a new child record contains: w Host Record control number 005037189 d Place, publisher, and date of publication Milwaukee : Hal Leonard, [2002?] z International Standard Book Number 0634038788 t Title Selections from O brother, where art thou? : The second 773, presumably created when I linked to the parent contains the above, plus 0 Host Biblionumber 19017 9 Host Itemnumber 20551 When I go to the host item in the staff interface and click on Analytics it says Used in 4 analytics ('4 analytics' is a link: http://kohaadmin-test.efdss.org/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/search.pl?idx=hi&q= 20551 If I click on the link: No results found No results match your search for 'hi,wrdl: 20551' in VWML Test Catalog. So something about this search is broken. . . . But if I put the host item number 20551 Into the search field, it returns the children and the parent record. The search for analyticals is driven by the host item number, which is not included in the 773 that is created with a new child record. So you must link the child to the parent. But why create an additional 773? It looks messy. I was hoping that linking the child to the parent would create a recipricol 774 in the parent record, but this does not seem to be the case. Related to this - there doesn't appear to be any way to look at analytics in the OPAC. Is this correct, or is there a setting that needs to be checked? Hi Alexandru: Someone may have already answered your question, but I'll offer some advice in the event that they haven't. 1) Consult the Library of Congress as your guide: http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/. If you're unsure of what you read there, consult someone well-versed in MARC21 and descriptive cataloguing standards (such as AACR2 or RDA). 2) "Duplicate" or rather "repeatable" fields are not a problem for MARC21, if the field is marked as (R) in the relevant section of the website I mentioned above. In the case of 7xx fields, it is very common to have multiple entries (since they're "added" entries). 3) In fact, by concatenating multiple 7xx author entries into one single 100, you will be creating a problem. The 100 field is a main entry field. It should only ever have one author in it. 4) Depending on your data, you might not actually have or need a 100 field in a record. With that established, why are you considering "duplicate" fields do be a problem? I'm not familiar with ISIS's export format(s). Are you using a CSV dump and then using the "Delimited Text Translator" tool in MarcEdit? Dear colleagues, I'm trying to convert (using MARCEdit) my approx. 10 000 entry ISIS database to MARC21 for import in Koha. I'm encountering the following problem: Some of the tags for each book are duplicate; for example, for multiple authors, the record will look smth like this: ... =702 John =702 Mary =702 Ann ... I would like to merge this fields into the MARC21 100 field like this: ... =100 \\$a John, Mary, Ann ... Unique fields haven't posed problems, but those duplicates do. Install koha-common 3.10 on Debian wheezy

Hi I am attempting to install Koha on a fresh install on debian testing ( wheezy) and I can't install the following packages. tinymce2 unavailable. libdigest-jhash-perl reauires perlapi-5.10.1 which is unavalable current version perlapi-5.14.2 do you have any suggestions? John
