German Z39.50

I'm looking for a German Z39.50 server. The Deutsche Nationalbibliothek has dropped Z39.50 in favour of SRU. I can connect to Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund (GBV) server z3950.gbv.de on port 20012 (UTF8), requesting Marc21/USMarc, using database gvk. This will bring me in (at least some) results for ISBN (e.g. 341601331X) but author fails. Title might work e.g, it will find title 'Der Flieger und sein Flugzeug' (no quotes), but not the author 'Sohn' or 'Sohn, E' copy/pasted from the Marc record, and not find title AND author (which is what our cataloguers normally use.) Has anyone got the full details of a working German Z39.50 for Marc21 biblio imports? Many thanks -- Paul

Problem reloading marc records

I am new to Koha. I am exploring Koha for possible use on future projects. I have Koha running with 52,000+ bib records loaded. No item or patron records. I exported some records and made some edits on them. Now I am trying to reload them and overlay the existing record. The reload gets stuck and eventually times out. I split up the load and have loaded several records but it gets stuck at a certain point. I have narrowed it down to a single record. (But there may be others.) On the stage MARC for import I upload the file with a single record. Enter a comment: blah blah Record type: bibliographic Character encoding: MARC 8 Modify record using template: Do not use Record matching rule: Recnum [the contents of tag 999c] Action if match: Replace existing record with incoming Action if no match: Ignore incoming record Check for embedded item record data: No How to process items: Ignore items I am using Koha version: 3.14.04.000 It loads other records, but on this one (and possibly others) is stops. It will eventually time out. Still working on sorting problem

Hello all, I am still working on this sorting problem, and have looked a bit deeper into it. I find the sorting routine in /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/ClassSortRoutine.pm , and it looks to me like it is driven by the variables $sort_routine, $cn_class and $cn_item . This took me back to the system preferences, where I turned on the Classification source "z Other/Generic Classification Scheme" and turned off all others. I then went to Koha to MARC mapping - biblioitems and set cn_class to point to 099a - which removed the mapping from items - itemcallnumber. I am suspicious that my problem may be that these records do not have a cn_source field, though my reading of ClassSortRoutine makes me think it would fall back to a default routine that should work. Or is there a perl program that needs to be run to update the records with the new system preferences? My previous question is pasted below. Any help is appreciated. I have a database that has no item records, only biblios. We are using it to catalog some archival folders, and pointing to pdfs with scanned images using the 856u field. We are using the 099a field as the call number field. In Administration - System Preferences - Cataloging - Record Structure - itemcallnumber we have 099a filled in. I just changed the Koha to MARC mapping so that items - itemcallnumber maps to 099a . After doing a search the results page is sorted in Relevance order. Changing the sort order to Call Number order, either Z-A or A-Z does not produce any change. Changing the sort order to Title or Author works. Circulation and Fine Rules

Dear Friends, I am testing latest version of koha for my library, I have set five item types for different courses and five different patron categories of these courses. I have set same course patron category with item type so that patrons cannot get books of other courses. but it is not working and patrons are getting issued all item types. Please help! Docbook to HTML/PDF Question

Hi all, I'm not sure who manages the Docbook to HTML script (I do know that Bernardo does the PDF one) but I'd love to see the 'authors' broken down by role. Help with report on percentage of Circ

I got this request today and I have to admit it's a bit over my head in terms of the math involved. Can someone help me with this report? ------------- May we have a report that will give us the total circulation for a specific time frame and what percentage was attributed to a specific JUR Code? I ran this report and for example it gave me 128% as the percentage of total circ for JUR Code M814. Tim, If you can figure something out, let me know. We've found the same issue, and it does not look like you can bring all the information from the regular slip over to the quick slip.
