MARC export - not exporting everything?
by Elaine Bradtke 19 Mar '14

19 Mar '14

Koha 3.14.03 Several attempts were needed to export the entire catalogue - I really only wanted a certain item type that does not have item records. First I tried exporting only these records by choosing the appropriate item type. According to MARC edit, I had -11 records. Yes, a negative number. The MARC breaker failed to parse this file. Not surprising when I saw that it had 0 KB of data. Next I exported what I thought was the entire catalog - the only thing I selected was the library, everything else left blank. However the only records in the exported file are the ones with item records. Exactly the records I don't need! Finally, I exported the whole file again, this time selecting 'Don't export items'. And this, and only this configuration produced a full export of the biblios. Is this normal or expected behaviour? It seems counter-intuitive to me. -- Elaine Bradtke Data Wrangler VWML English Folk Dance and Song Society | http://www.efdss.org Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 7AY Tel +44 (0) 20 7485 2206 (This number is for the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London, England. Admin patrons are denied access to admin interface
by alessandro macuz 19 Mar '14

19 Mar '14

Hi all, I elevated the privileges of a normal use to admin ones and moreover I created another one granted her the same privileges. For some reasons they can access the normal interface but they are denied the admin one. For the moment the only user allowed to enter the web-admin interface is kohaadmin but I should use that only to create patrons, right? What and where can I look at to allow those two users to enter the webadmin interface? BTW Koha is suppposed to authenticate users against AD but afaik if it doesn't find them in AD it should look at the local DB, should'n it? Thanks, Alex

Assuming you are importing records using the "Stage MARC records for import" process, record matching rules set the criteria by which an imported record is checked against existing records to check for duplicates: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.12/en/catadmin.html -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
