362 and 310 Fields not displaying
by Elaine Bradtke 17 Mar '14

17 Mar '14

MARC 21 field 362 (DATES OF PUBLICATION AND/OR SEQUENTIAL DESIGNATION) and 310 (CURRENT PUBLICATION FREQUENCY) do not display in the normal view. I have edited the MARC Bibliographic framework, specifically so that they would display. Editing them was not straightforward, however. When I looked at the MARC framework it said all the subfields for 362 were hidden, but when I went to the actual subfields, some of them were marked visible (though they weren't). Just changing the advanced settings on a particular subfield had no result, it still said 'hidden' (in the list, and when I viewed the record), but if I went in and unticked and then ticked every box for all the subfields, then it said it was no longer hidden. However, the information that is in the field 362 still does not display in the record. Although set to view in OPAC, staff interface and editor. . . the only place this information shows is in the MARC record. Is there something I'm missing? Or have we got a case of gremlins? by enquiries.sevillelibrary 17 Mar '14

17 Mar '14

Hi Koha has been setup and running for a while now in our library and we are currently writing a guide/policy on data and system maintenance to ensure Koha keeps "ticking over". Has anyone written such guide/policy and willing to share? Thanks Tom - enquiries(a)sevillelibrary.org.uk

Is there an overview of migration tools?
by Viktor.Sarge＠regionhalland.se 16 Mar '14

16 Mar '14

Dear community Is anyone aware of a list of migration scripts for different systems? I held a lecture this wednesday about Koha and could not answer this question. I did however find a quite a few libraries having migrated from Voyager to Koha which answered only part of the question (since they were a Voyager library). I’ve also located 20+ scripts for different kinds of systems. But if there is a list I’d still like to know so I can both inform people of it and add the scripts we funded for migrating from Book-IT for others to use.
