Firefox speed issues
by Nicole Engard 14 Nov '14

14 Nov '14

Hi all, Have you noticed that Firefox has been super duper slow lately? Sometimes I can't even get Google to load up it's so slow. This is also effecting Koha. I watched a patron page try to load for over a minute before I restarted Firefox and it loaded up. I'm wondering what you're all doing to speed up Firefox or if you're using Chrome for Koha? I know there are some things like receipt printing and a few Acq things that just don't work right in Chrome, but everything is speedy in Chrome so is it the solution? Or is there another solution you're all using? Thanks in advance Nicole

Our main library consist of 3 Branches of library situated at different locations having 2500 books each. The databases of books of all these branches are maintained in KOHA database. The branch libraries now require the database of the books held at their library separately. They want almost all the field of bibliographical data like ISBN, Class No., title, author, edition, publication, physical description, bar code etc...So please advice me on the following 1) How to generate full report on transferred books in excel or CSV format 2) I have checked the same in SQL Report Library in Wiki.Koha community (Item 4.34), but failed to access the requirement as I am a first time user of SQL report generation methods. Request educate me on the above. Jameela, Information Assistant at Indian Naval Academy

I have doubts on following issue. 1.We have 03 VIP members who have the privilege to borrow n number of books. I want to generate report (in excel or CSV) for these members. The report may contain all the bibliographical data like ISBN, Class No. , title, author, publisher, eidtion, barcode, price, etc.....The report available in KOHA version 3.12.05.000 does not have the field Title, author etc.... Zebra rebuild frequency
by Steven Nickerson 14 Nov '14

14 Nov '14

Hi everyone, I know the topic of Zebra index rebuilding comes up periodically and I've tried to find an answer to this but can't seem to locate one. I have the package version of 3.16.02 installed on Debian and have the following "default" cron entry in /etc/cron.d/koha-common: */5 * * * * root test -x /usr/sbin/koha-rebuild-zebra && koha-rebuild-zebra -q $(koha-list --enabled) Aside from this rebuild, is there some other "complete" Zebra rebuild recommended, and if so on what frequency? Thanks! Steve

Report filtered by item type fails
by Elaine Bradtke 13 Nov '14

13 Nov '14

Koha 3.16 According to my statistical report, we have 848 biblios that are continuing resources (BIBITEMTYPE CR) But when I try to build a report that limits the output to these records I get only a handful of records (these uniquely have items attached, 99% of our CR records do not, so this information usually only appears in the 942c). If I run the following report it doesn't list any entries with CR. SELECT biblionumber, ExtractValue(marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="942"]/subfield[@code="c"]') AS comp FROM biblioitems But I can search and retrieve individual records, and they do indeed have CR in the 942c. When I run an advanced search and limit it to this item type, the search results are exactly what I expect to see. I can't figure out how it will count them in one instance, but not list them in another; find them in the advanced search, but not when I query the database with a report. . . We've just moved our server over to a new virtual machine and a different version of Linux. . .
