Search boxes and save record box doing unexpected things in 3.16

I'm getting reports from our staff that since we upgraded production to 3.16.04 there have been strange things happening on the screen in the staff interface. Aside from one instance of problem 1) below, I have not been able to replicate these things on my end. I have asked them to send me the info on what browser and OS they're running. I have also asked them to refresh the browser to see if this clears it up. Because we're 8 time zones apart, trouble shooting sometimes takes a while. 1) After searching, and clicking through to a single record the search box at the top changes to patron search. (This I saw happen once, but after many searches, it hasn't happened again on my machine (Mac OS X and Chrome). 2) "in normal view, a save record box appears below the item record box, which is something new and unnecessary". (I have looked at several records, different item types, edited and unedited - and I have not seen this at all, but I don't think they're making it up). Is this, as I suspect, a browser problem? Problem in checkout reports

Unique Barcodes across branches

Looking more for confirmation here.... Multiple "independent" branches still require unique barcodes for each item, correct? I was under the incorrect assumption that there would be behind-the-scenes magic that would tie barcodes to their home library/location and so there could be the same barcode in use at multiple branches, each for a different item. Data Conversion from Libsys to Excel for Koha, Newgenlib, Evergreen etc.

Dear All, The following are the General steps to get your libsys data in excel format for final conversion into Marc format to switching into other ILMS software. Please note that there are several other tips and tricks which you can use to convert your libsys data in excel, so that you can migrate in some other desired software like Koha, Newgenlib, Evergreen etc. The reports module given under Cataloging/Circulation/Serial of Libsys software can be used to get the data in Excel format. In-case you are not getting subject heading than it can be added at the time of excel data conversion as well as you can also group together all the same titles, but you should have at least ISBN/ISSN number in your records. Marc editor (http://marcedit.reeset.net/downloads ) is wonderful software which not only converts your data in marc format but it also gives you opportunity to make your data standard before importing in new ILMS. In case of any help needed in this regard please feel free to contact. We have implemented the Koha software at various libraries and found Libsys is the only software which does not have option/permit to export the data in Marc format however this have option to Import in any format (It allow you to come inside the room but does not allow you easily to go out side the room)!!! . Saving a new item type

I'm looking for some help please having come up against a brick wall. We defined a new "Item Type" "Files and Binders" code 'FB', made a new Framework structure, and entered a few biblios/items to verify it. Appears to work, see <http://opac.navalmarinearchive.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-MARCdetail.pl?biblionu…> where both the 942$c and 952$y are _correctly_ showing 'Files and Binders' However, we use a script that needs $itemtype and which works perfectly for all item types _except_ this new one. So I looked into the MySQL side of things, and the new 'FB' is _not_ getting saved: mysql> SELECT itemtype from biblioitems Group by itemtype; +----------+ | itemtype | +----------+ | NULL | | AU | | BK | | CM | | CR | | HB | | VI | | VM | +----------+ 8 rows in set (0.00 sec) and mysql> SELECT ExtractValue(marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="952"]/subfield[@code>="y"]') AS itemt FROM biblioitems HAVING itemt REGEXP 'FB'; Empty set (0.59 sec) "Test MARC biblioframework" is good. All other cataloguing is fine. I must be doing something wrong or making a basic mistake that I just can't see. Help or suggestions on adding a new "itemtype" would be warmly welcomed.
