Patron Card Creator - pdf file not readable
by ChristyThomas 07 Apr '15

07 Apr '15

Hi, I exported a batch with a template and layout I created. It created a pdf file for me to print. None of my programs can read it, illustrator, mac preview, photoshop, word, or my internet browser. Is this the only way to make cards is to export in the batch window? Do you have any ideas what could be wrong? I have to make 300 cards for a school. It would be nice if the batch function worked. Thanks so much for any advice! 2of5 Barcodes Not Rendering
by Allen Odden 07 Apr '15

07 Apr '15

Hello everyone, After getting the system set up and playing around with the label generator to see which ones we would prefer to use, we ran into some issues with a few of the barcode types. The 2of5 types, both industrial and coop, do not seem to be rendering properly on the .pdfs. Has anyone else had issues with these formats, or are we missing something obvious? For our system, we could just use one of the other formats, but I'd like to know what's going on with these labels.

Koha and fees
by Tim Young 06 Apr '15

06 Apr '15

Hi, I am helping some people set up Koha. I am not very familiar with it, and I thought a quick email might save me a lot of head-scratching... We have a bunch of research books which are set up to be of type "short-term loan". We have a rule where they are checked out for 2 hours, and start to get fined for every hour after those two hours. At the end of the day, however, we are OK with students checking these books out overnight and returning them first thing in the morning. The problem is that they have ammassed a lot of fines by then, since they are long past their due-time. Is there a way for us to either have time-based rules, or select between two different rule-sets at checkout? Or is there some other approach that we can use so that we can set up a policy of that nature? - Tim Young
