Setting up emails in Koha
by Fiona O'Connell 27 Mar '15

27 Mar '15

Hello Can someone help with the following. I am trying to set up automatic emails to be sent when books are overdue. In Patron preferences we have the following; *General* primary address - use first valid. *Interface options*, Admin email, Reply to default and overdue notice BCC - my email address. I have set up overdue notice/status triggers for 7, 14 and 28 days and ticked the email box in the first two and restrict and email in the last notice. In Notices and slips I have set up 3 separate notices ODUE/ODUE2/ODUE3. Finally, I have asked IT to check if we have a working MTA (mail transport agent) running on the server that has Koha and told them they may have to use the command 'koha-email-enable'. They said this is set up correctly but we are still not getting emails sent out. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. I am not very tech savvy so the simpler the explanation the better. Thanks Fiona O'Connell *Librarian* *Taupaki School*

Koha for community information directory
by Iming Chan 27 Mar '15

27 Mar '15

Dear all, We are using Koha to manage our small library. I'm just wondering whether anyone is also using it to maintain a community information directory? I know there is a separate MARC format for community information (found at Library of Congress -- http://www.loc.gov/marc/community) Therefore I expect Koha to be able to handle such information. However, I'm particularly interested to see how you present a Google map with supplied address during the OPAC search? Looking forward to your feedback. Documentation Mirror on Github
by Nicole Engard 27 Mar '15

27 Mar '15

Hi all, I'm not sure who manages the git repos so I'm sending this out to all. The Koha repository on Github (https://github.com/Koha-Community/Koha) is updating regularly with new commits, I'd like the same for the documentation repository (https://github.com/Koha-Community/kohadocs).\ This is done using hooks https://help.github.com/articles/about-github-mirrors/ I'm not sure who has management rights to the documentation repo, but if someone could set this up I'd be grateful - or if someone can tell me if I can do it I'd be happy to learn. Thanks Nicole

Hi. I sent a message yesterday about having my ability to import records disappear. I haven't seen it, but then I don't think I see my own posts. Has anyone seen it yet? Lenora Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission

Hi, in the web page for download, http://koha-community.org/download-koha/ there is an old link for 3.18. "Koha 3.18.0 (.tar.gz)" points to http://download.koha-community.org/koha-3.18.00-beta.tar.gz I think it needs an update. Bye Zeno Tajoli

Koha 3.18.5.1 released
by Galen Charlton 27 Mar '15

27 Mar '15

The members of the Koha release team are proud to announce the release of Koha 3.18.5.1. This is a maintenance release. As always you can download the tarball from download.koha-community.org or wait a little for the packages to be available at debian.koha-community.org Koha 3.18.5.1 fixes an erratum in the 3.18.5 release where a change needed for the proper functioning of the patch for bug 13380 (Auto fill order cancellation reasons from authorised values) had not been included. Libraries who have already upgraded to 3.18.5 are advised to upgrade to 3.18.5.1 as soon as possible. Koha 3.18.5.1 also includes an unrelated fix for bug 12399 (opaccredits printing at top on printable version). For further details, including the full release notes, please visit http://koha-community.org/koha-3-18-5-1-released/ Regards, Galen (substituting for Chris Cormack in his momentary absence). -- Galen Charlton Infrastructure and Added Services Manager Equinox Software, Inc. / The Open Source Experts email: gmc(a)esilibrary.com direct: +1 770-709-5581 cell: +1 404-984-4366 skype: gmcharlt web: http://www.esilibrary.com/ Supporting Koha and Evergreen: http://koha-community.org & http://evergreen-ils.org

restriction period for several overdues
by Carolina Andreu 27 Mar '15

27 Mar '15

Hello again, We're working on Koha 3.16.03, and we've noticed that when checking in some items with overdues Koha only takes the first checked in item to apply the restriction period to that borrower. We check in an overdue item, and then automatically Koha sets a restriction period to the patron. If you immediately do the same process with another overdue item for the same patron, it doesn't update the patron restriction period, which remains with the same number of days than before. Has anyone checked this behavior? Is this a bug we should report to the Koha community? We'd thank any comment on this issue. Regards, Carolina Andreu Dpto.
