Question about "item type" nested and localization
by YihChuang 13 Apr '15

13 Apr '15

Dear Koha members, Is there a way to localize an item type? I don't seem to see it under "Home › Administration › Item types administration" web console. Plus, is there a way to arrange item types in a nested form, for example, put item type "Systematic Theology" under item type "Theology". So that we may keep a clear hierarchy of item types. Thank you. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Question-about-item-type-nested-and-local… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

browse shelf for serials without items
by Giuseppe Angilella 13 Apr '15

13 Apr '15

Dear Kohaers, while it is possible to assign a call number to a serial subscription, as far as I understand, it is currently not possible to have a serial shown with the "browse shelf" function, unless that serial has items (with their own, proper call numbers). I wonder whether it is possible to circumvent this limitation, perhaps adding one "fake" item to the record for that serial. (Apologies for duplicate posting to both the users and the developers lists, as I feel my question might receive either an answer based on current usage, or possibly stimulate an enhancement of the browse shelf function.) Many thanks and best regards, Giuseppe.

Hello, I'd like to ask if it is possible to import multiple records from a z3950 server and if so how can it be done. Using Koha with multiple languages
by Benz1 13 Apr '15

13 Apr '15

Apologies for the newbie question but I'm looking at Koha to setup an ILS for a small, not-for-profit library in New Zealand that holds books both in English and other languages. The system itself would be in English but does Koha support having book titles and descriptions, etc, in multiple languages (only one per book) and can it handle right to left languages such as Hebrew/Arabic as well as English? Loving the fact that Koha originated in NZ! :-) Many thanks in anticipation, Benz1

Koha 3.18.04 not clearing the overdue list
by Admire Mutsikiwa 12 Apr '15

12 Apr '15

Hi I have a koha instance that is running. After clearing the overdue list, the list is still appearing with the same accounts. Could it be that the scheduling frequency is less frequent? How could I resolve this? Open Badges
by Nicole Engard 11 Apr '15

I think we should offer open badges for Koha Hackfests and Conferences - it would be fun to collect and would show that we've participated in live Koha events. I got the idea from here: http://learn.catalyst-eu.net/badges/badge.php?hash=c4efddf55ca4e90c2bc8567e… Nicole

Re: [Koha] [ByWater Partners] Public Printing
by Chad Roseburg 10 Apr '15

Thanks Paul ~ This looks like a good solution. I will contact them for more information. [ I should have been more descriptive about our needs in my original email -- apologies ] Our public computers are all running Linux -- I notice Papercut is compatible whereas Envisionware is not. We offer 15 free copies -- 10 cents a copy after that. It's pretty much the honor system and it gets abused, particularly during tax season. The printers get bogged down by impatience and must-have cat pictures. Traditional print release stations require staff time -- so we're looking for a stand alone print solution that could maybe serve mobile and laptop patrons as well. Thanks for all the responses! keywords to marc mapping
by Gaetan Boisson 10 Apr '15

10 Apr '15

Hello, i am curious to know whether libraries are using this feature. I have never used it in any project, because it tries to solve an issue that i handle with xslt stylesheets. I has been there for a fairly long time with the promise of adding more keywords yet it hasn't changed much. I am not even sure i understand what it does. Anyone using it? and if yes how? Koha 3.16.00: zebra index - search of new entries failed
by Sebastian Krieg 09 Apr '15

09 Apr '15

Hello Koha, I use koha with Fedora 21 Server and I have a problem after adding new entries. After adding the new entry will not shown by search. The search of new entries works only after a manually execution of the Zebra Index. The Zebra Index normally will execute as an cron job every 2 minutes by the user koha with this little skript: --- #!/bin/bash export KOHA_CONF=/etc/koha/koha-conf.xml export PERL5LIB=/var/www/koha/lib export XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=/tmp/ perl /var/www/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl --run-as-root -b -r -v --- The skript has the rights: --- -rwxr-xr-- 1 root koha 205 28. Mar 08:27 koha-index-cron.sh --- In the Logfile /var/log/cron you will find every 2 minutes this entry --- […] CROND[23187]: (koha) CMD (koha bash /etc/koha/koha-index-cron.sh) --- and no errors. After searching a new added entry the /var/log/koha/zebrasrv.log shows the entry: --- 20:39:43-03/04 [session] Session - OK 13 unix:/var/run/koha/zebradb/bibliosocket PID=1447 20:39:43-03/04 [request] Auth idPass kohauser - 20:39:43-03/04 [request] Init OK - ID:81 Name:ZOOM-C/YAZ Version:5.8.1 49a4d29a88820425b7d88b8550ca5e4bf5a42adb 20:39:43-03/04 [log] dict_lookup_grep: (\x01I\x01\x03)(r(a|\xC3\xA1|\xC3\xA0|\xC3\xA3|\xC3\xA5|\xC3\xA2|\xC4\x83|\xC4\x85|\xC8\xA7|\xC7\x8E|\xC8\x81|\xC8\x83)d(i|\xC3\xAD|\xC3\xAC|\xC3\xAE|\xE1\xBB\x8B|\xC4\xA9|\xC4\xAD|\xC4\xAF|\xC7\x90|\xC8\x89|\xC8\x8B)(o|\xC3\xB3|\xC3\xB2|\xC3\xB5|\xC3\xB4|\xC5\x8F|\xC7\xAB|\xC8\xAF|\xC5\x91|\xC7\x92|\xC8\x8D|\xC8\x8F).*) 20:39:43-03/04 [request] Search biblios OK 2 1 1+0 RPN @attrset Bib-1 @attr 1=1016 @attr 4=6 @attr 5=1 [SEARCH TERM] 20:39:43-03/04 [log] /etc/koha/zebradb/biblios/etc/dom-config-marc.xml dom filter: loading config file /etc/koha/zebradb/biblios/etc/dom-config-marc.xml 20:39:44-03/04 [request] Present OK - 1 1+1 20:39:44-03/04 [request] Present OK - 1 2+1 20:39:44-03/04 [session] Connection closed by client 20:39:44-03/04 [warn] ir_session (exception) --- There is only one hint of the failed search: --- 20:39:44-03/04 [warn] ir_session (exception) --- Has anyone an idea?
