Koha emailing not working
by reachsuriya 22 Apr '15

I have koha 4.18 version and trying to find a fix for Mailing through Koha I want the patron to email his cart to any Mail id he prefers. So i am tring to test this feature and while doing that, it gives me an error as "There is an error sending the cart" after clicking Send. When i checked the Opac-error.log file, this is the error i get. opac-sendbasket.pl: Error sending mail: Bad recipient <mail id of user>: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay, referer: opac-sendbasket.pl: No valid recipient opac-sendbasket.pl: at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-sendbasket.pl line 188 I configured Post fix with gmail as smtp to send and receive mails. It works fine if i echo a test mail and it reaches the recipient id. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Koha-emailing-not-working-tp5836791.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Editing branch names in 3.18
by Chad Roseburg 22 Apr '15

22 Apr '15

We are not able to edit the branch names in 3.18. I notice that there used to be a bug for this -- as far as deleting branches. Is this just because there are so many references to these branches that they are not editable? -- Chad Roseburg Automation Dept. North Central Regional Library

OAuth2
by Daniel Owens 21 Apr '15

21 Apr '15

I am using Koha 3.16.04.000. I am very interested in getting Koha to use OAuth2 for patron login since we use Google Apps for Education. I have two different instances of Koha running, so I have been testing using the one that is not mission critical. I followed the instructions at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Alternative_OPAC_logins_RFC#Instruction…. The patch applied and so on, and I added the client ID and secret in Koha. But when I navigate to http://koha.theology-vietnam.org/cgi-bin/koha/svc/googleoauth2 I get Error 500. I looked at the most recent output in the Apache error log: [Thu Apr 16 06:42:07 2015] [notice] Graceful restart requested, doing restart PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/curl.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/curl.so: cannot open shared object f$ PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/ldap.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/ldap.so: cannot open shared object f$ PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/xmlrpc.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/xmlrpc.so: cannot open shared obje$ [Thu Apr 16 06:42:08 2015] [notice] Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.3.10-1ubuntu3.17 with Suhosin-Patch configured -- resuming normal operations [Thu Apr 16 11:27:42 2015] [error] an unknown filter was not added: includes I cannot tell much from this (sorry, my server knowledge is patchy). Has anyone gotten this running on Koha 3.16.04? Do I need to make any changes to the patch? Daniel

Support for Debian 6 (squeeze), Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) going away
by Robin Sheat 20 Apr '15

20 Apr '15

Come the release of Koha 3.20 (towards the end of May), support for Debian 6 (squeeze) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (precise pangolin) will be dropped from the Debian packages. This won't affect Koha 3.18, which will continue to support these distros until it's no longer being released. This is due to the increasing difficulty of supporting features requiring modern OS infrastructure as more things are added to Koha. Essentially, backporting more and more libraries was becoming difficult and it's safer to upgrade the OS. Support for Debian 7 (wheezy) and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (trusty) will remain for the next couple of years I expect. On the 25th of April, Debian's next version (8 (jessie)) will be released. As of right now, Koha packages may not work with it due to minor dependency issues. If you are planning to upgrade to that, keep an eye on: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13979 which will be coming to a release near you very soon I hope. -- Robin Sheat Catalyst IT Ltd. ✆ +64 4 803 2204 GPG: 5FA7 4B49 1E4D CAA4 4C38 8505 77F5 B724 F871 3BDF

Printing labels for multiple copies
by FRANCISCO JOSE RALON AFRE 17 Apr '15

17 Apr '15

Dear friends: We are beginning to use Koha in our library. We have already tested printing labels with the Dewey call number and everything came out well. However, as in every library, we hold several copies of some of our titles or multiple volumes of one title. In these cases *Koha has returned one label only*, but we would need *a label for each item*, adding a copy number to each call number ( 927.8 L94 c.2) or a volume number to each call number (927.8 L94 v. 2). How do we achieve this? Thanks ahead for your help. Francisco Ralón

Extending OPAC purchase suggestion fields
by Pablo Bianchi 16 Apr '15

16 Apr '15

Hi! Before using Koha we were using a local develop for purchase suggestion requests («desdierata»). Now I'm trying to extend/add suggestion fields to add some data we were asking in the form and Koha doesn't include, something like what ExtendedPatronAttributes syspref does with patron fields. First I naively tried to add to opac-suggestions.tt <li><label for="newField">Extrafield:</label><input type="text" id="newfield" name="newfield" maxlength="40" /></li> and on submit: onsubmit="this.note.value=this.note.value+' - '+this.newfield.value; return true;" to concatenate extended fields (yeah, dirty) but it seems Suggestions.pm do a foreach walk over form ids: Software error: DBIx::Class::ResultSet::create(): No such column alum on Koha::Schema::Result::Suggestion at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Suggestions.pm line 450 Because I'm trying to touch the less as possible now I'm tring a JQuery way, but maybe someone already found an easier way... Maybe I should fill a bug. Regards, Pablo

records 'lost' since koha upgrade
by Heidi 15 Apr '15

15 Apr '15

Hi, I recently upgraded our Koha to the newest version. Since this upgrade, any new records I enter cannot be searched or edited. I know the record exists in the catalog somewhere b/c the barcodes are used and considered unaccepted duplicates if I try and use them for a different record. Also, with records that existed before the upgrade, if I do any editing the changes don't show up on the initial search results page. (The changes do show if I go into the record.) Any suggestions? Could it a permissions thing? Thanks
