Empty list on Authorized Values after upgrade to 16.05.05
by anjoze 14 Nov '16

14 Nov '16

After upgrading I've lost the *Authorized values* on *MARC frameworks*. The parameters on each framework are ok (ex: Auth value:Country) but, when cataloging (editing or creating new record), the list is blank. Searched for bugs but can't find it... Thanks for any help ----- Koha version: 16.05.05 - - José Anjos -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Empty-list-on-Authorized-Values-after-upg… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Any quick tip on how to not trigger outstanding fee while importing patrons?
by Indranil Das Gupta 10 Nov '16

10 Nov '16

Hi, I'm moving a batch of patrons from a legacy system to the latest stable. some of the patron categories have an enrollment fee. Of course since these are existing users, their fee is already paid. In fact, I'm recording their fee's receipt number and date as extended attribute. Import is happening without any issue, however the account types with fees are getting into accountlines and thus with checkout bar. Of course I can take care of it via SQL, but am I missing something here? Something I can do to not trigger the accountlines being generated for these already paid users? I could probably also turn the categories that require the fee, into "non-fee" until the import is over and then add the fee requirement back in. What's the reco? thanks in advance -- Indranil Das Gupta L2C2 Technologies Phone : +91-98300-20971 WWW : http://www.l2c2.co.in Blog : http://blog.l2c2.co.in IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg

Re: [Koha] Linking subject authority records to 650 via MarcEdit?
by Paul A 09 Nov '16

In other words, the text is in its authorized form, >just not linked to its auth record. Question: how were your biblio records created? Manually? Z39.50? or some sort of other "import"? We have experienced, over the years, a few problems, but intrinsically can see a "9 (RLIN)" for every 650 entry. The biggest problem is that if -- for whatever reason, accident, stupidity, IT -- you have *two* authorities, same text, different RLIN, and the cataloguer doesn't do a "search, choose" for a 650, then you get yet *another* RLIN adding up to eventually hundreds of non-cross-referenced but identical "authorities." If there's only one, single RLIN, then Koha finds it, uses it, perfection... I'm fairly certain that most of our "duplicate RLINs" were my fault when I migrated ($deity forbid) Excel flat files through the 2010 version of MarcEdit. I was wet behind the ears, knew nothing, and in a hurry -- it's been biting me ever since ;={ And there's no (apparent) simple manner to sort it out, except go manually through every authority... But I'm at a loss to understand how you can "save" a biblio without the 650 creating its own (proper or duplicate/erroneous) RLIN. Disclaimer: Koha 3.8.24 from tarball.
