CSS for OPAC login form
by Contact Orielstar 10 Mar '17

10 Mar '17

Hi Folks, I am trying to put a border around the login form on the OPAC home page but when I set my display to 768px wide I see some very strange behaviour - well, it seems strange to me. The form element is <form id="auth", and within this form is a fieldset containing the input boxes for username and password. Here's what I am struggling with... the fieldset.brief element is wider than the form element, even though it's inside it. I can't see why as the width is set to auto, but if I try and put a border around the form then the input boxes actually poke through the side. If I put a border around the fieldset.brief element then it hangs over the side of the page. I think I've missed something fundamental and it's cooking my head... can any of you clever css experts out there explain to me what I have missed, and how I can get a box around the login form that looks fine at all screen resolutions? I thank you very much for your help in advance. Regards, Dave Jury.

Help: Patron Cards Creation <B_address> <B_Address2> Fields Not Responding
by olufunmilayo favour 10 Mar '17

Dear All, My name is Olufunmilayo. I am a Systems Librarian with the University of Jos Library, Nigeria. Thank you for your good works. I have put <B_address> <B_Address2> in the text box of one of the fields in "Edit Layout" Window of the "Print Patron Cards" koha feature. When I opened the resulting PDF file generated from managing batches, exact texts in the field's text box were returned just as they were input instead of displaying the values in the fields. However, when I input <address> in the textbox of the same field, and I ran the Batch export, it display the correct values. What could be wrong with the fields <B_address> and <B_Address2>. Any help about this please? Your advice will be appreciated. Thank you. Olufunmilayo FATISystems LibrarianUniversity of Jos LibraryNigeria

Thank you!

Hi all I wanted to thank all those who took the trouble to answer my query about using koha to catalogue our synagogue's library. I think, having read all your emails, that given our lack of technical expertise and with no local techies to call on for support that koha is not for us. However, thank you so much to those who suggested Librarything which I wouldn't have found otherwise. I think that will probably offer us everything we need and doesn't require us to have any particular computing knowledge. So thank you again - you are obviously a really nice group, very supportive and helpful. I hope the Librarything lot are as nice! All the best Rebecca

Tim, Please answer to the list :) You must know that 3.14 is no longer supported and that this patch has been written for the current master branch. You can try and fix the error you get by adding the "use Koha::Database;" line close to the other use statements at the top of C4/Circulation.pm Regards, Jonathan On Thu, 9 Mar 2017 at 15:00 Tim Koop <TimK(a)mysouthland.com> wrote: > Thank you Jonathan. Withdrawn items showing in OPAC search results (again?)
by Steve Nickerson 09 Mar '17

09 Mar '17

Hi all, I have a package version of 16.05.09 running on Ubuntu. I have my OpacHiddenItems system preference set to "withdrawn: [1]" which I'm quite sure used to successfully hide items with a "Withdrawn" status, but after a recent upgrade to 16.05.09 doesn't seem to hide them any longer. Anyone else running 16.05.09 now seeing withdrawn items or know why this might be happening? Thanks! Steve

Stuff is experimental response from cron
by Tim Koop 09 Mar '17

I get emails from my Koha server with the subject: Cron <root@audio> koha-foreach --enabled --email /usr/share/koha/bin/cronjobs/process_message_queue.pl And the body says things like: library: given is experimental at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/DateUtils.pm line 133. library: when is experimental at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/DateUtils.pm line 134. library: when is experimental at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/DateUtils.pm line 139. library: when is experimental at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/DateUtils.pm line 144. Is this bad? Can I ignore this? They are coming every few minutes. How can I turn this off? Thanks Tim Koop

Duplicated Emails
by Tim Koop 09 Mar '17

09 Mar '17

Some of our people are complaining about getting duplicated emails. Does anybody have any ideas how to diagnose or fix this? Koha had been working fine for a long time, then suddenly started duplicating emails. Actually, only some are duplicated, or even more than twice. Others are being sent just once like normal. Thanks. [Koha US] Koha-US Conference CFP
by BRANNON, CHRISTOPHER 09 Mar '17

09 Mar '17

To All Koha Users, I would like to take the opportunity to repost the invitation to everyone to participate in this year's Koha-US Annual Conference: Koha-US is calling for proposals for conference talks/presentations, round table discussions, poster sessions, etc. for its 2017 annual conference held on August 9-12 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, USA. The theme for this year's conference is "Koha: You Can Do It" and is in the enabling attitude of Rosie the Riveter. We are seeking proposals for diverse audiences, from new Koha users, to the most advanced Koha software developers. Please check out the proposal submission form found at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfoq_J7IHoTP-KhdGp3I-FYbi0L44BWMjT… for more details. If you are not sure what you could share at this conference, think about the things you wish someone would have told you about when you were struggling or maybe think of a lesson you "learned the hard way." Maybe you could share your experiences integrating Koha into a library program. The Koha community loves to share and presenting at the conference is a great way to do just that. I would like to encourage everyone to think about what has made Koha work for you and your library, school, consortium, or office and consider sharing that experience with us at this year's conference. The thing I enjoy most about the Koha-US Users Group and our annual conference is the connections that are made. It is the group's desire to provide everyone in the Koha community with the tools and resources needed, including mentors and connections to other users, and enable them to have great success with this incredible tool. What makes Koha great isn't the code that houses all our "stuff", but the people behind it; programmers, libraries, and staff. How many software products do you have in which all of these groups get together to talk about the program and how it works, and how we can make it better? Every library has a different experience. Every library has a different approach on how to serve their patrons. What adjustments have you made to make Koha work in your environment? What have you learned that other libraries and organizations might benefit from? What workflows have you developed to streamline your Koha use? What "extras" have you done through tweaking, paid enhancements, report writing, or 3rd party vendors to make Koha even better? We want to know. If you have ideas, please share them with us. Consider sending us a proposal. Or perhaps you might consider leading one of our round table discussions. We have many ways for everyone to participate. Even if you decide not to present or lead, let us know what you want from this conference, and we'll do everything we can to fill that need. You can let us know by using the link above. To find out more about the conference and this year's location, visit http://koha-us.net/index.php/2017_Koha-US_Conference. I look forward to seeing everyone again at this year's conference. It is because we have such a fantastic community that I know "You Can Do It!" Thank you, Christopher Brannon Vice President, Koha-US cbrannon(a)cdalibrary.org<mailto:cbrannon@cdalibrary.org>
