Hi, I have installed Koha on Debian (yay!). Version 16.05.06.000. I want to use UNIMARC format. I want to use the setup as a test server for SIP2. This seems to work with ports 6001 & 8023 (raw & telnet) responding. I can add books to the test server. I determined this by looking at Tools->Inventory and I can see my 4 sample book entries. However, I would expect to find these books if I typed the title into the catalog search. I get the "No results" response which seems quite a common problem with Koha setups. From the Wiki it seems like you can use yaz-client to see if Zebra is not working properly (rebuilding Zebra seems to be the standard response to the "No result" problem.) However, when I try the yaz-client approach it sort of works, I get the "Connection established by v3 target" response to the command: $ *yaz-client -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties unix:/var/run/koha/$instance/bibliosocket* However, when I try to search for the books using: *Z> **base biblios* *Z> *f Finance** ** ** I get "Search was a success" but the number of hits is 0 when I would have expected it to find the book in the Catalog. The Wiki on this seems to suggest yaz-client is the fall back when the Koha search front end returns "No results". But what do you do when yaz-client returns no results also ? If I sound like a Koha novice that is because I am a Koha novice, I just want to use it as a test tool for developing self-service kiosk software. Hi All, I have checked the MIME information of a specific file using its extension. But actually I need details of exact file. Say, I have a file like test.jpg , somebody renamed its extension as test.pdf. If we checked the MIME information of test.pdf, it should display the output as image/jpeg. For implementing this , I am trying to integrate *File::MMagic::XS* into KOHA with the following steps. 1. Download *File::MMagic::XS* from http://search.cpan.org/~dmaki/ File-MMagic-XS-0.09008/lib/File/MMagic/XS.pm <http://search.cpan.org/%7Edmaki/File-MMagic-XS-0.09008/lib/File/MMagic/XS.pm> . 2. Extract the tar file and put the extracted file into usr/share/koha/lib/C4. 3. Take command prompt and Use command : cd /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/File- MMagic/ 4. Use command: perl Makefile.PL 5. Use command: make 6. Use command: make install After that , call *use C4::File-MMagic::lib::File::MMagic::XS;* *my $m = File::MMagic::XS->new();$m = File::MMagic::XS->new('/etc/magic'); # use external magic filemy $mime = $m->get_mime($source);* into the specific page and upload a jpeg file.But I got the MIME type as *text/plain* Can someone help on this issue? Hi Barton Chittenden, Thanks for your reply. I am aware about the case you mentioned but that is not the thing. The scenario is different in my case , I need to navigate to a common error page when the application shows some error like "BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/events/add_event.pl line 172" You can see a sample error message which usually shows in KOHA for page not found - 404 error. Same as this , could you please help me out to redirect to a common page whenever the above mentioned error occurs. Test PLACK performance Koha 16.11

Hi all, I have 2 Koha instances 16.11, both ubuntu 16.04 and apache 2.4.18. One of them has memcached and plack active, they both seem to have equal performance. These 2 instances have mysql 5.6.26 and the same database for testing purposes. Is there a way to find out if plack is working 100%? Can't really find differences in performance. The development cost was sponsored by State Librarian, State Central Library, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and facilitated by KELTRON (Govt of Kerala). Thanks also to individuals who worked behind the scene to make this piece of FOSS possible. This is the second India specific open source SMS Send driver released on CPAN. Hi everybody, I'm working in a small library and we have installed koha version 16.11.03, but we are having some problems with the search. We only recover information when we use the itemsearch. Whenever we use the advanced search we get no results at all, regardless the term we use (title, author, subject, keyword, etc). The message we get is this: No results found No results match your search for 'ti,wrdl: manual' in Biblioteca catalog. What are we doing wrong? Can anyone please help us?
