Converting to Koha 16.05 - some issues

Hello, as asked here before, we moved from Book2DB to Koha which was quite a quest as Book2DB is saving all information data set-based. So in every catalogued book there is also the signature saved. So I rebuid the exported *.csv-file to match MARCMaker as to make an *mrk and *mrc-file. I've tried to do my best to re-route all MARC-fields to the given scheme. text file is saved as ANSI. <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5922009/Koha_Upgrade_Textdatei_aus_…> <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5922009/Koha_Buecherliste_mrk.jpg> Although it seems to have worked so far, I have some troubles also. The search results look as following <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5922009/Koha_Ergebnisliste.jpg> I'm not sure if this should look like this Also there were problems for the proper display of mutation signs. Not to mention that I have to move the signatures out of the 500 category to form single issues. Perhaps someone can look over the whole thing and I can tell me, if I have transformed it right or if I should re-import the database with other settings? Currently I have Koha 16.05 installed. I'm running OMV 2.0.21 (i.e Debian Wheezy) and the new Koha build isn't installing. If anyone want to look into it for yourself: http://koha.enne.at Searching without logging in is possible. Koha catalogue search not working

Hi, I have attempted to perform a koha-rebuild zebra -f -a -b -v $Instance in order to solve a search not working problem. The result is shown below. The search still doesn't work but I am not sure if this is an indexing issue or is related to an issue I have seen on the MARC bibliographic framework test following a bit of trawling through the Koha issue list when I found my problem to be very similar to this one: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Koha-reindex-with-Zebra-doesn-t-work-td56… I also experience the same MARC test errors. Unfortunately that thread seems to recommend a reinstallation which I would prefer to avoid since I am pretty sure the UNIMARC flavour was chosen throughout my original installation. Regards, Ian

How to set up SRU Server on Koha

Hi, One of our patrons are going to develop an app for our library. He asked me to provide him with an API. He wants to search for books, and then get item information. After googling around, I think that SRU might do the job. I read through koha-conf.xml and koha-conf-site.xml.in and I understand that I am to uncomment a few lines. Specifically I uncommented comments starting from line 86 and 161 in koha-conf.xml and 81 and 150 in koha-conf-site.xml.in Which port should I use? Where do I set that? Shouldn't I also set apache to listen on that port? What am I supposed to do next? Regards, Dalton

Koha catalogue search

Hi, I have installed Koha on Debian (yay!). Version 16.05.06.000. I want to use UNIMARC format. I want to use the setup as a test server for SIP2. This seems to work with ports 6001 & 8023 (raw & telnet) responding. I can add books to the test server. I determined this by looking at Tools->Inventory and I can see my 4 sample book entries. However, I would expect to find these books if I typed the title into the catalog search. I get the "No results" response which seems quite a common problem with Koha setups. From the Wiki it seems like you can use yaz-client to see if Zebra is not working properly (rebuilding Zebra seems to be the standard response to the "No result" problem.) However, when I try the yaz-client approach it sort of works, I get the "Connection established by v3 target" response to the command: $ *yaz-client -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties unix:/var/run/koha/$instance/bibliosocket* However, when I try to search for the books using: *Z> **base biblios* *Z> *f Finance** ** ** I get "Search was a success" but the number of hits is 0 when I would have expected it to find the book in the Catalog. The Wiki on this seems to suggest yaz-client is the fall back when the Koha search front end returns "No results". But what do you do when yaz-client returns no results also ? If I sound like a Koha novice that is because I am a Koha novice, I just want to use it as a test tool for developing self-service kiosk software.
