Location to store text files and images in Koha
by Jack Boulier 03 Mar '18

03 Mar '18

I am sure that this question has been asked a thousand times, but I am unable to locate an answer in the archives, or I am seeking the answer with the wrong terminology. I want to have links on the home page that retrieves the web page and displays to the screen. I am able to call the links to display information from a separate server, and have the text files display when hosted on a second server. But cannot locate them when hosted on the same server. I need to be able to store files on my local Koha server to be accessed from the Koha Home page. I don't know how to get the OPAC NAV to find the documents using http://localhost/path/document I want this to be a permanent location so that updates to the software do not over written the files each time. I would also like to display images of new acquisitions on the home page. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Ubuntu Xenial and Koha 17.11.03. The other features of Koha work correctly/ Thanks,Jack

Hi all, We are planning to use koha for union catalogue, initially 5-10 libraries having round about 100000 (one lac) books in total. This count may increase to hundreds of libraries and millions of books. Is koha favourable for union catalogues? Regards, Javed

Exporting Excel data to MarcEdit to Koha help request
by Matt Rose 01 Mar '18

01 Mar '18

Hi folks, I have spent many weeks attempting to install a Virtual Mac on my PC so that I can run Koha. Koha finally works but I find I can't export my data via MarcEdit. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. It does not like my Excel Sheet Name. I am following this guide: Importing Excel data into Koha: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.2/en/marceditexcel.html On page three, when I enter into Excel Sheet Name box: libsys (or any name for my .xls file) I get a long error message that says: "System.Data.OleDbException (0x80004005): $ is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that is it not too long." etc Any ideas? many thanks, Matt library(a)halswaymanor.org.uk

Re: [Koha] 8. Introducing In - Out Management System based on KOHA ILS (Omkar Kakeru)

Thank you for a fantastic work. It is a good look at a great program. Thank you for developing this interface. I sincerely appreciate your work. This feature is an addon advantage for Koha users This is very much needed by Indian academic Libraries as NAAC and MBA needs these reports. I installed this in my library. When patron enters into the library by swiping the card, Patron photo and details displayed. This gate register interface is helpful to get statistics of library visitors. Earlier one developed by Sri A J Thomson was also good but it doesn’t contain exit system. This plug-in contains both entry and exit. Reports are also very good and easy to generate. This will help to library staff in collecting statistics of how much time students spend in library Again, thank you Omkar Kakeru so much for your help. I greatly appreciate the assistance provided by Omkar Kakeru during installation. New overdue fines
by ksang 01 Mar '18

01 Mar '18

Hello, We do want to setup new fine rates for overdue without affecting the existing fines for patrons who have not paid. However when we effect the new fines, koha calculates all fines using the current rates. What are we doing wrong?
