Capturing a "consent" field for new patrons
by Chris Brown 09 Mar '18

09 Mar '18

Gentle Reader, We need to capture an email "consent" field when we add new patrons to Koha. Currently my solution is to have staff type "yes" or "no" into the borrowernotes field but what I would really like is to have "yes" and "no" radio buttons, or failing that a drop-down with "yes" and "no" as the only options. And it would be really good if the field was labelled "email consent" on the patron entry form. Any suggestions gratefully received! Best Regards, Chris Brown

Integration with Banner
by Joelle Hannert 09 Mar '18

09 Mar '18

We're considering a switch to Koha, and I'm wondering whether any academic users would be willing to share information about Banner integration with me? A programmer at our institution set up a system to import student data from Banner into our current ILS (SirsiDynix Symphony), and we're hoping our new system can easily integrate so she doesn't have to re-do all her work. If your library has found a way to interface with Banner, how do you do it? Are you able to import and export data, or do you use API, or something like MySQL or Web Services? Thanks for any information you can share! Joelle -- Joelle Hannert Library Technical Services Coordinator Northwestern Michigan College (231) 995-1684 Work days: M, T evening, Th, F

How to use housebound module?
by Agnes Rivers-Moore 09 Mar '18

09 Mar '18

Dear Koha users I have failed to find any manual entries or Wiki description of how to use the homebound module. Bugzilla #5670 has been under way for a while so the project may have changed from the original outline. Also it may be called house bound, or homebound, or home-bound... but I still cannot find it. Can anyone point me towards the information, please, or can anyone share some more detailed description of what this is intended to do? Is anyone using it? Is any further functionality intended in future? Thanks everyone, Agnes (Koha 17.11.03 as of Feb 2018) -- Agnes Rivers-Moore CEO / Chief Librarian Hanover Public Library 451 10th Ave, Hanover, ON, N4N 2P1 Tel: 519.364.1420 x 1244 | Fax: 519.364.1747 Email: arm(a)hanover.ca<mailto:arm@hanover.ca> | Web: Hanoverlibrary.ca<http://www.hanoverlibrary.ca/> Facebook Hanover Public Library | Twitter @HanoverLibrary Support your library! DNS for OPAC
by Ma. Victoria H. Silva-Manuel 09 Mar '18

09 Mar '18

Hi. Our library has a website which feature our OPAC, but it shows the IP address. Is it possible to set up a domain name for OPAC using our website's domain name? For example, our website is "library.org", can we make our OPAC domain name "library.org/opac"? We host Koha and our website is being host by web host provider. Thanks. -- Ma. Victoria H. Hi. Is there a way to show one cover image only. I mean, if I had uploaded a local image, the image from Amazon or Google won't show anymore for a particular book/record. Thank you. -- Ma. Victoria H. Silva-Manuel Registered Librarian, 3892
