Authorized Values error in default template

We noticed that the previous and next icons at the bottom of the authorized values page does not allow you to go forward or back in the list. clicking on either icon brings up the page to add a new item to the tag in question. In the template <koha intranet dir>/htdocs/intranet- tmpl/default/en/paramaters/authorised_values.tmpl at the bottom of the file the previous and next buttons are form input fields, changeing them to image links solves the problem. addbiblio.pl error

Good day! I have set up Koha 2.2.2 on our Fedora linux server for school library use. I can successfully add users, etc. When I try to add a 'resource' [A Passage to India, ISBN 0895773341] using the addbiblio.pl script, I get an error, and the resource doesn't add to the mysql database. Upon checking the koha-error_log file, I see Premature end of script headers: addbiblio.pl, referrer: http://MYIPADDRESS/cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl?isbn=0895773341 As well, I've noticed that the biblio.pl page has an error. Upon further investigation, the error reads: Line: 1963 Char: 4 Error: Object required Code: 0 URL://http://MYIPADDRESS/cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl? isbn=0895773341 Any suggestions on what I can look for or do next? MARC newbie frustration on Windows XP

Thanks for the help Rachel But I am still in the dark !! The parameters/biblio/MARC structure/ create default has Tag, lib, repeatable, mandatory, authorised value, subfields, edit, delete Do I need to define each tag? Installing Koha

Hey all, We're working on doing a roll out of Koha this summer for our library. I had wanted to simply use the installer.pl script to make my life easier. However, when I attempted to run it this morning it detected some missing perl modules. I happily installed the missing modules and then reran installer.pl, however it is still convinced that those modules are missing. Any ideas, or should I just go with a manual install? displaying item call numbers

Hi all, I am stuck on a problem with my Koha opac. If you've had the same problem, I'd appreciate it if you could give me some pointers. My library uses unique call numbers for each item. But the Normal record view displays the same call number for each copy. For example, for the title "Questions of diversity", I have 3 copies. This displays in the MARC Detail page just great, like this: Copies Call number Barcode homebranch 301.2771 Simons c.2 210002 MAIN 301.2771 Simons 101539 MAIN 301.27 Sim c.3 210003 MAIN But in regular Normal Record View, it looks like this: Type/Format Call Number Location Due Date Last Seen Book 301.2771 Simons Book 301.2771 Simons MAIN Book 301.2771 Simons I think this is because the call number in Normal view is being pulled from the bib record (dewey or classification), not from the item records. I would like both these screens to display call numbers the same way. Do I just change the opac-detail template, or is it more complicated than that? Adding new biblio problem....

Hi everyone, It's been a while since my last post but Andres and I are still working on Koha for our University (Universidad ORT Uruguay), the system is in production state, about 90% of functionallity running. Now the bad news, our librarians reported some strange problems during the catalog process, it seems that one of them (Mr. A in branch A) adds a new biblio and after a while (minutes, hours) the record is modified by another librarian (from Mr. B in branch B). I know this may be a user mistake but they assure me they haven't modified any record, just added one. I've taken a look at the Biblio.pm code and everything seems to be ok ad the NEWnewbiblio function, the process is almost atomic, there is no big reason to begin thinking in concurrency problems (at least for now). Barcodes generator

I was trying to test the barcodes generator and when I tried to configure the printer I got a server error. Can't locate PDF/API2/PDF/Utils.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.4 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/ perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/ local/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/barcodes/printerConfig.pl line 33., referer: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/cgi-bin/koha/barcodes/barcodes.pl I found Utils in PDF/API2/Basic/PDF, so I put a symlink to Basic/PDF in the API2 directory (and also one to Basic/TTF just in case I needed that later) and that seemed to fix it. What are the inventory codes? Are they barcode numbers? I tried those and got nothing. Clicking on the Generate Barcodes button does nothing. Not even an error or a blank page. From what I can gather, it is just one of many approaches to records that come from XML/Dublin Core/FRBR perspectives on cataloguing. Holding my tongue on that and moving on ... Simon, give a try with the National Library of Canada AMICUS server. You have to sign-up, but it is free and they won't bother you unnecessarily. We have had fair success hitting Oxford and the BL on searches, so hopefully the transatlantic traffic will flow equally well for you viz. time-outs. You can check AMICUS out at URL <http://www.collectionscanada.ca/amicus/006002-400-e.html> with the link for self-registration to the Registered Service, which allows Z39.50 searching at URL <http://amicus.collectionscanada.ca/amicus-bin/self_register?l=0> Depending on how many records you have to download, Simon, it may work better for you to do the cataloguing properly, from the traditional view, and search for each record individually via AMICUS (LC or other source). With AMICUS you can batch your results for later upload. As for the British Library not using MARC standards, I don't know where that comes from, Stephen. I can certainly access MARC records that they are generating, although I have tended to do so via Oxford. Anyway, Simon, you may want to navigate through the Bibliographic Services section of BL -- see URL <http://www.bl.uk/services/bibliographic/service.html> -- to find out more about what the heck is happening. On other pages, BL notes that the change to MARC21 has been shifted to early 2004, which might indicate it is currently underway. This is what BL says on **their** page at URL <http://www.bl.uk/services/bibliographic/marc21paper.html> regarding the 'current status' of MARC at BL: "In the autumn of 2000, the British Library undertook a major consultation into the future development and maintenance of the UKMARC format. The outcome revealed a significant majority among UK libraries and information agencies in favour of the adoption of the MARC 21 format in place of UKMARC. As a result, the Library has decided that MARC 21 will be the future standard for data creation and processing of its bibliographic records. The British Library is planning to switch to MARC 21 in the summer of 2004, when the new Integrated Library System (ILS) is implemented. During the consultation, a number of concerns were articulated about how the Library would implement MARC 21, and what practical consequences this might have for UK users of MARC. This paper endeavours to answer some of the questions raised, and describes developments up to September 2003. 2. Maintenance of the MARC 21 Format The "Agreement for the development and publication of the MARC 21 format" was signed on July 8th 2002 by representatives of the Library of Congress, the National Library of Canada and the British Library." So, I don't think it is correct that BL is using SUTRS, Stephen. It may be that we can't access their catalogue properly for some other reasons. Anyway, Simon, I hope this helps.
