Hi, I've just installed Koha 2.2.6 successfully on Ubuntu (6.06 LTS) and I'm trying to figure out how to migrate the 6000 records from our old DOS based library system. As our current records are pretty basic I'd like to enhance them by using Z39.50 to download MARC records from public servers. I've managed to get the Z39.50 client working using Koha's Intranet web interface but it seems this only does one biblio at the time. Is it possible to quiry a list of ISBN numbers on multiple Z39.50 servers? If this is possible, I wonder, would it then somehow still be possible to keep our current local Call-Number when using MARC records from different Z39.50 servers? All the best, -- Jochum

tena koutou katoa... i am sort of the computer techie (and no librarian) of our little library Revolting Books in Te Aro, Poneke. thanks heaps for that piece of software that i could set up seemingly succesful on a recent Ubuntu Dapper. so far, we have a catalogue of ca. 1500 titles as records in a spreadsheet in OpenOffice Calc and want to import this into Koha. does anybody know how to do this best? do we have to export into XML, then write a conversion script into MARC records and then import the records into Koha with that bulk script? thanks in advance, Sebastian -- _ ascii ribbon campaign .oOo. 500 Error message on upgrading to 2.2.6

I just upgraded Koha to 2.2.6 on Windows XP. However, I encountered the following error message: Error 500 Internal server error. see attached error log. Where to post Code

Dear Koha's Where do you want me to post code for Koha. I have redone BarcodeGenerator to use Lib_Report_pdf instead of API2::pdf so that it would work on my system. (Debian Sarge). I cannot download the old API2. Also it is redone so that with a little tweeking we can have users select if they want to use lib_report or API2 < 0.37 (ie just run two final functions). Plus I can allow for A5 barcode sheets and non EAN barcodes (if desired). Now I posted that code to this list a few weeks ago and I got no responce. Do you want me to post code to another list or this list? I am on Dial up internet access (actually to be specific I am on borrowed dial up internet). The code I posted had a slight bug where it skipped every 5th barcode. Should be easy to fix. Can you please advise me where to post code and if there is any projects that KOHA really wants done. I will try and do Calculate fee on Late borrows, Get allot of the reports fixed (they don't work on my system), Have Koha make library cards (with Barcodes on them!!). I have a little time (i am in total isolation where I am). Apache for KOHA

I have downloaded the KOHA2.2.4-W32-R0 when I was asked for APACHE or my SQL i have downloaded the APACHE httpd-2.2.3 but still the KOHA app won't run. Borrower will leave soon?

Hello all, We've got Koha up and running after some minor struggling (although forgetting the root password was a major hurdle) We are running Koha 2.2.5 on Debian Sarge, and I transferred all patrons to mysql. Everything went swimmingly, and it all works great (including the Z3950 searches), however, even though almost all patrons are entered the same date (30/09/2006) and the expiry date is set one year later (30/09/2007) it keeps telling me that "borrower will leave soon". I know different people have different ideas of soon but this seems a bit much. Anybody any idea where to change this? Or what causes it? Thanks, Marty Jongepier

import authority records

I do not see a way to import authority records. Is there a way from within Koha to search the LoC authorities and import them into Koha (similar to the Z39.50 search)? Let's say I search LoC and export a bunch of authorities to a text file, is there a way to bulk import them into Koha? Am I missing something? Or is the only option available right now to create my own authority records under the blank "Adding authority" form? --Jason

Search error

Hi all I am running koha2.2.5 on fodero core 5, the version of mysql is mysql-5.0.22-1.FC5.1. I add a biblio through Z39.50 and add 2 items. but when I try to search the biblio, I get 2 results without title and author(see the attached screenshot). I have modified search.pm and searchmarc.pm . Can anybody help me? Thanks Jenny

Hi Jenny, Unfortunately, Koha 2.2.6 does not work with MySQL 5. There are several issues which will reportedly be addressed in Koha 2.3, but until then you will need to drop back to MySQL 4.1.
