inventory.pl not working for me

Hello, sorry to deluge the list with so many posts. This is my time to work on our library system and I have to address a few different things all at the same time. When I go to Accounts and Reports > Inventory/Stocktaking > inventory.pl, enter in some values, and then press the "Generate Report" button, I get nothing. My template of choice is NPL, but I also tried it in the default template and it doesn't work there either. Here's my system stats: Koha version: 2.2.9 OS version (from 'uname -a'): Linux ubuntu-server1 2.6.15-28-powerpc #1 Thu May 10 09:50:21 UTC 2007 ppc GNU/Linux Perl version: 5.008007 MySQL version: mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.22, for unknown-linux-gnu (powerpc) using readline 5.1 thanks for your time and any help you can give me. -Matthew

Changing charset

Hello I have a little problem with changing charset in koha 2.2.9. I solved the problem by editing inc. files and just living <meta ...; charset=UTF-8" /> . I would prefer to do it by changing TMPL_VAR NAME="TemplateEncoding" but i have a problem with finding it. Greetings Sebastian

How to change HTML / TMPL path prefix?

How do I change the path prefix where Koha looks for HTML / TMPL? We're implementing Koha at Simon Fraser University for three small student operated libraries (about 4k holdings each). We host Koha at http://some.host/koha/opac-html/opac-tmpl/... (not live yet) but the Koha CGIs appear hard-coded to look for HTML / TMPL at http://some.host/opac-tmpl/... I dug around in the code a bit, searching for how to change the path prefix to match our setup, but no luck so far. Can anyone on this list help? Incidentally, we're also very interested in the Debian packaging efforts. Are current versions of the debs available online anywhere? What are the current obstacles to getting these packages in the official repositories? Thanks! Jack

Koha Location Mapping

Hello all, About a year ago, I installed Koha 2.2.7 and converted from a pseudo-UNIMARC database to MARC21. Now I am going to upgrade to 2.2.9 and I am rechecking everything. I have always had problems with my location information, and now I think I have discovered why. This may have been mentioned elsewhere on the list. I used the default MARC format and followed the instructions in http://www.kohadocs.org/holdings.html for the mapping. Only now have I noticed that these instructions in "3. MARC 21 to Koha Holdings Mappings" do not follow the default framework (at least in my catalog). For example, it says: Map 541 $d; or 876 $d, 877 $d, and 878 $d to 952 $d for items.dateaccessioned but 952 $d in my default MARC format is holding branch. 952 $v is dateacessioned. and Map 852 $c, 856 $u, 876 $l, 877 $l, and 878 $l to 952 $c for items.location. when there is no 952 $c in the default (there is in 2.2.9) There may be other discrepancies as well. So, I suggest that people look very carefully at this document and compare it to the actual settings when they are their mapping. Summary of Koha Project Day

Hi all, Yesterday we had another Koha Project Day. Below is a summary of the goings on. We're thinking of moving the day of the week we do this on to give more folks the opportunity to get involved ... is there a day of the week that would work best for you and your koha project team? Let us know. Summary follows: We met some new folks, so extending a welcome to martinmorris, who's working on configuring Koha; and thanks to jaron for some support help on that front. Dewey was up to his usual tricks, and we fed him multitudinous botsnacks :-) Slef worked on improvements to the installation process, thanks for the commits! Tina and I picked up some books on interface design and started learning about typical processes for designing application interfaces (not just websites), with the intent to improve the 3.0 interfaces before the release. I also installed plone and played around with some workflows for managing users, groups, and roles. We discovered that, like Koha, plone is quite powerful, but requires plenty of customization :-) Chris spent most of the day fixing bugs in HEAD and commiting fixes to the CSS for Russ. Chris and I also spent some time refining our plan for moving to Git. Russ played around with plone, learned up on the plone help center product, moving some content into a plone install to see how it might work (see http://new.koha.org:8080/koha/author/rwgarlick for some of he content created. The Plone Help Center product looks like the goods for Koha documentation, but there are still some kinks to iron out before we have it going properly. Russ also did some testing of HEAD (version 3), in particular fixed a bug with the san-op.css which was obscuring the secondary navigation. Reported a few other bugs that Chris is working on. Ryan and Mason were super busy getting ready for a golive that happened this morning, so they opted out this time. I'm sure they'd rather be working on project stuff, just don't tell the clients :-). Sara spent some time updating lists of koha users found in the wild (they're everywhere! :-)). The best lists now are libwebcats and the Koha wiki, but we're working on a new worldmap that we hope will launch within the next coupla months. Feel free to join us next week, the festivities will start at 12:00pm EST and continue for about 12 hours. To join us, you'll need to download an IRC client (for Windows, mIRC is pretty good: www.mirc.com/) and point it at irc.katipo.co.nz and the channel #koha. Reports Documentation...

This is more of a "koha workday" request more than anything... What I (as the IT admin dude, NOT a librarian) would LOVE to have, is some sort of documentation on building custom reports, some simple examples...what tables/fields are most usable in the DB... It would be really trivial(IMO) to create some custom SQL queries as requested by the Librarian, when they ask "How come there isn't a report that does XYZ?" Then again, this might already be out there(along with a bunch of reports and I just haven't found them yet) --Huck
