Barcode help

I am still trying to get some barcode stuff to work. We have koha installed on Ubuntu 6.06 and up and running. I am trying to move the library database over but there is problems with using the barcodes we already have on the books. I scan the books in and have them looked up on the Z39.50 server and all the info comes up. The problem comes in when I try to scan in the barcode on the book for reserves it will not accept it. Koha wants to autogenerate one. I turned off autogenerate on under system preferences and catalogue but it still refuses to let me input a barcode. Can any one help with this problem?

Trouble installing MARC::File::XML

I'm doing a fresh install of Koha on Debian Etch. Everything has gone well up until perl -MCPAN -e 'install MARC::File::XML' The output is below up to the beginning of the errors. CPAN config issues

Mgabhi -- It appears that your configuration of CPAN is not working out. This may be due to your preferred servers being unreachable or incomplete, or perhaps you are not logged in as a privileged enough user. You can still download a given module manually from http://search.cpan.org. For example: http://search.cpan.org/~esummers/MARC-Charset-0.98/lib/MARC/Charset.pm <http://search.cpan.org/%7Eesummers/MARC-Charset-0.98/lib/MARC/Charset.pm> But to fix the underlying problem you should probably reconfigure the CPAN module. Use the command: perl -MCPAN -e shell That will open a CPAN shell. Then use "o conf" to view the current CPAN configuration and "o conf init" to change it. Pick your preferred list of CPAN mirrors to be systems that are reliable and responsive to you. You might also start with "upgrade CPAN", since the latest version appears to be only a week or two old. The connection attempts (some successful?) to 192.168.1.254:800 are confusing to me. That internal address is unlikely to be a correct destination. Hi Dear List Members, I've installed Koha elsewhere several times, so I thought I had more or less worked this thing out. Wrong Bo, wrong again :-) I'm trying to do a Koha 2.2.9 installation on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn on a new high-end server box and get stuck during the installation routine due to missing Perl modules. MySQL and utf8

Hi all I try to set up my server (debian 4.0) for koha and I follow the guidelines in: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=encodingscratchpad to make shure the encondings are right. LDAP authentication problem with Koha 2.2.9

Hi everyone, I have Koha working (2.2.9), and I try to connect the readers who are stored in our LDAP. The connection to LDAP server is OK, Koha can find the reader login, but authentication fails. In my log, I can see : LDAP Auth impossible : wrong password at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules/C4/Auth.pm line 533, <DATA> line 430. I use Auth_LDAP.pm renamed as Auth.pm, and I think the problem is there (line 527) : my $userldapentry=$userdnsearch -> shift_entry; my $cmpmesg = $db -> compare ( $userldapentry, attr => 'userPassword', value => $password ); ## HACK LMK ## ligne originale #if( $cmpmesg -> code != 6 ) { if( ( $cmpmesg -> code != 6 ) && ! bulkmarcimport.pl issues

Dear KOHA colleague I have just set up a KOHA system and am trying to import a marc21 file. Bulkmarcimport gives several error messages. It seems it is unhappy with the structure. There are several issues, so for me to be sure that it is a structure problem, I need a sample marc file with only 1 or few records to test, preferably with a standard barcode field. That is not what the KohaLa Rules say, AFAICT. KohaLa has as its object the development, documentation, protection, promotion and distribution of Koha (article 2). For example, some French cooperative federations seem to be 1901-law associations, so I believe a fair association is possible. Why, for example, isn't KohaLa being formed as a society of common interest and cooperation (SCIC)? It seems that key movers of KohaLa are unaware that other non-profit forms even exist, but maybe I misunderstand. Did KohaLa take expert advice on possible forms? I didn't see the discussion on infos-koha about it, else I would have raised these questions before now. I think my complaint is with KohaLa being an expansive and unfair 1901-law association, which seems to be presented to Koha supporters with little consultation or representation. Where have these rules and regulations come from? Were models used? Sheer numbers does not mean that it is the right solution for us! In conclusion: - KohaLa should be an open and voluntary association, without onerous membership tests that will deter more supporters than opponents; - KohaLa should be One Member One Vote and I don't believe that double-votes for corporations is a French law requirement; - If KohaLa is a users group, its objectives should reflect that; - KohaLa's statutes should reflect its place in the Koha community; - KohaLa should offer training to its council of administration, so that the council reflects the community and not mainly law knowledge.
