Windows Koha Issues.... more help needed...

How do I remove the branch from the default Windows install of KOHA... It won't let me do it... It says it is being used... but I can create and remove other Branches... also Any fix for the issues with adding a new Borrower... Addresses show on some screens and not others... sometimes names too... I found the fix to allow you to add people in... Also why only two choices... of Child or Institution? Can I create other borrower categories? Also I am also missing Menu Items on the main screen unless I change my window size or drag the mouse of them and they appear... If I run windows at 800x600 they are fine... anything larger and they are no there... If I run in a window that is not maximized they appear also... also on the OPAC how can I remove the search item for new items... The Children won't need that... Barcode and Holdingbranch hidden field

Hello, When I open the items table direct in MYSQL and change the barcode and Holdingbranch there it works fine with the OPAC (user view), but somehow there must be a hidden field which the data is stored. The intranet view (Administrator) has still the 'old' barcode and Holdingbranch in it. Is there any way to do this canges in mysql without going through the koha program?And where would I find these hidden fields? Folks, I'm in a library that may soon break away from a consortium. Actually it's a certainty but I've been asked to conduct my research quietly. I apologize in advance for questions your probably tired of seeing. 1) We currently are on a shared Sirsi Unicorn system with several other libraries. I've been assured that we can export all of the data from the system administrator. He is a good guy who I believe will extract everything possible. He tells me that everything including old transactions can be exported. I see there is a Winnebago to Koha plugin to aid with that migration. Is there a simillar plugin or instructions on how to perform a migration using Sirsi Unicorn. If not I'm willing to contribute towards that form of project. 2) Book jackets in the catalog. My boss truly covets book jackets in the library catalog is this possible with run of the mill Koha or does it require the LibLime version. Is this a subscription service. 3) SIP and NCIP. Does it? 4) Can you import records using Connexion from OCLC or is it strictly import by Z39.50? 5) Reports how detailed? Can you use something like Crystal Reports as an interface? 6) SMS, IM, Email, and Mail notices. Do these capabilitites exist? Probably enough for now in the question department.

I am very pleased to announce that Chris Cormack, the current Koha QA Manager and former release manager for V1.2, won the Open Source Contributor Award at the first ever New Zealand Open Source Awards last night. The award recognizes Chris' tireless, ongoing effort working on the Koha project. Koha was also a finalist in the projects category. Chris accepted the award in his normal humble style, making a point of thanking everyone else involved. It was a great evening, with Koha getting mentioned several times, including a mention by the New Zealand Minister for ICT. Congratulations to Chris! Customizing the look of Koha (questions)

OK... Now I have it running... I have two questions... How do I remove the Branch in the default setup? There was a branch already installed and can't remove it... it says it is being used... How do I create a whole new database/set of files for Koha to use so I can start from scratch... Also... how do I modify the look of KOHA... Specifically the colors of the OPAC page and putting our school logo on the page... Z39.50 Windows Problem Solved!!!!!

Its not the firewall.... the proxy or the ports.... Its the new intranet interface.... switch back to the old green one and I'm searching now.... got this from a fellow user and it works like a charm now... "We discovered that we couldn't be using the npl template. We had to switch back to the original lime green template for it to work. Something in the code is buggy with npl template. Perhaps try that. Well, If your Koha admin section is that vivid lime green color, that's the original template. It should be there by default. Go to the System Preferences-Intranet section.
