For example, some French cooperative federations seem to be 1901-law associations, so I believe a fair association is possible. Why, for example, isn't KohaLa being formed as a society of common interest and cooperation (SCIC)? It seems that key movers of KohaLa are unaware that other non-profit forms even exist, but maybe I misunderstand. Did KohaLa take expert advice on possible forms? I didn't see the discussion on infos-koha about it, else I would have raised these questions before now. I think my complaint is with KohaLa being an expansive and unfair 1901-law association, which seems to be presented to Koha supporters with little consultation or representation. Where have these rules and regulations come from? Were models used? Problem adding biblio records - Biblio.pm at line 1440

I just installed a new Koha system for a Children’s library for my church and I'm having trouble adding biblio records. Koha 2.2.9 Debian 2.6.18-5-686 mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.32, for pc-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 5.2 Perl 5.008008 Apache 2 I'm trying to look up MARC records via the z3950 interface and then add them using the "Add Bibliographic Record and go to Items" button. When I try to add a record, the Biblio script fails and I get a -document save- dialog box in my browser with an option to save an addbiblio.pl file. I loked at the /usr/local/koha/log/koha-error_log file and discovered that I the last entry has a problem in Biblio.pm at line 1440. I then looked at the Biblio.pm file and line 1440 and the line is ---->$record->delete_field($old_field);<----- I've gone through this scenario many times now and get consistent errors importing from several z3950 sources and using several different books. I found lots of posts with similar problems that refer to line 1440 but unfortunately, no solutions... Some threads suggest that it might be an Apache problem and others suggest that this may be related to the format of the MARC record we are trying to import. Has anyone solved this one? I'm running out of leads on what to check next. I'm tempted to reinstall but I would prefer to trach down the issue and document the solution since so many people seem to be running into the same problem. Hi Please forgive me if this question is often repeated; I have not found anything that answers the specific questions I have. I am trying to get a small charity's library catalogued and online as simply as possible. I have a (relatively) relaxed time in which to do this, so I can probably learn some stuff as I go along. What concerns me is to make sure I can get hold of what I need either cheaply or for free, and learn only what I must. In your opinion what is the simplest way for a novice to go about setting up everything that Koha can do for this library? The FAQ tells me I need Apache, Perl and some extra modules, but others have pointed me to MySQL. I'm a bit lost. I would like to learn these tools but I don't want to waste time. My really big question is: If I'm starting off with only a bare PC running either Windows or Linux, can you tell me which are the cheapest, easiest programs to download and install? I will just go with any advice here. And secondly, would I greatly hinder things by running the Win32 version? Again sorry for the simplicity of the question, no doubt I'll have far more complex issues soon enough! Help on koha for windows please?

I have installed koha 2.2.8 on windowsxp for evaluation purpose and everything seems to be working fine except for some concerns which i wish i can solve fast and move on. From the localhost, it is possible to access all the features just by typing http://intranet/cgi-bin/koha/mainpage.pl or http://localhost however from the intranet, i can only access the opac. My problem is how then do i avail the circulation feature to the circulation staff, and the catloguing module to the cataloguers? Do i have to do any configuration at the server, or at the clients? I need to access other features from the local network clients other than just the opac, how do i do this? Secondly, how do i allocate access previledges for the staff? Dear Sir, Could ask you a help? I have installed Koha 2.2.4 with EasyPHP1-8. I am getting an error in configuration. When I browse as http://<server_name:80> I get the Welcome to Koha 2.2.4 then it goes back to the Internal Server Error that error no 500. Can help me solve my problem in configuration?
