I seem to be having a little trouble posting to this list. Apologies if this message appears more than once today. Hi, I'm working with Carol on the test instance of Koha at the NREL Library. We followed Cindy's directions below, but repeatedly got a server error when we clicked on the edit subfields button. Before I go any further I should point out that we are using Koha on a Windows machine. I'll also note that I am not a programmer, and am just guessing here. That said, I think there may be a problem in this part of the code. I'm going to do my best to document what occurred below so that Rob and the other Windows developers can take a look at it and hopefully determine whether the problem is related to our installation or is actually a problem in the code. In my windows directory this is the default path to the value_builder folder: C:\usr\koha228\intranet\cgi-bin\koha\value_builder I made a copy of value_builder and moved it here: C:\usr\koha228\intranet\cgi-bin\value_builder As soon as I made this change I was able to go back to the subfields page, and the edit subfields button now works fine. I have left the value_builder folder in both locations for now, but I don't really want to do anything else with our installation until I know what the ramifications of this change might be. One other problem we've noticed on our install is that some of the pages don't load correctly. There are empty spaces on the page, but when rolling the mouse over them, some of the images will appear. This problem occurs using IE6. I haven't tried it in Firefox, but will today. Can anyone shed some light on either of these issues? Forum board

Hi I have been on the mailing list for a while and it has it good points but I was wondering if maybe if it is time to start a forum board instead. This way whe could break up information into units such as intalling, migration, updating, database, etc. We could further break down units like installing into Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat , 64 bit, etc. In each of these sections we could add the latest install walk throughs as a sticky at the top. As people ecounter problems they could be edited into the install guides. The boards could speed up advice and cut down on the amount of mail being sent out. Christopher Middleman

Koha OPAC Question

We are looking at next gen interfaces for our catalog and Koha was something we were interested in looking at, however at this point we are not interested in switching our ILS. We were wondering if the OPAC interface for Koha could be used with a different back-end or if it was pretty tied to the Koha back-end. If it could be used outside of the Koha ILS system, what would be required for a back-end. Hi All, I have installed Koha version 2.2.4 OS version Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] Perl version 5.006001 MySQL version mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.58, for Win95/Win98 (i32) Myproblem is in circulation section when i am issued the book it is showing till 2008 but no more years it is showing can any one help me to fix this issue. what changes i have to make so that koha shows 2009 2010 etc when i checked with the source code it is showing </select> <select name="year"> <option value="0">Year</option> <option value="2004">2004</option> <option value="2005">2005</option> <option value="2006">2006</option> <option value="2007">2007</option> <option value="2008">2008</option> but i do not know where the values are comming from pls help; me -- Jayadev Kumbar, Librarian, collabera Bangalore

koha[Barcode Generation Error]

Hi List, I'm using koha 2.2.5 on Centos with mysql 4.1.20. I have installed koha successfully but when i'm trying to generate barcodes it gives error. I checked in log/koha-error_log file. Problems with authority searching in Koha3

We are able to add new authorities (e.g., personal name authorities) but we are not getting any results when trying to search for a recently created authority (we already tried all search boxes, also in OPAC) At the moment of the search, Koha logs the following message: authorities-home.pl: NZAND at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 1650. and then, maybe unrelated: authorities-home.pl: Use of uninitialized value in split at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Languages.pm line 129. I believe the latter is a strange mix of the language content requested by the browser and the available intranet languages, so this don't worry me much, but the former message appears when running other authority searches such as when you run misc/link_bibs_to_authorities.pl and nothing happens.
