Running Koha 2.2.8

Hi all, I have successfully installed all necessary programs to run Koha 2.2.8 however whenever I click on the Koha shortcut on my desktop it reinstalls it again. When I click on 'run as.' I get: "Could not initialize installation. C: \Documents and Settings\Library\Desktop\Koha 2.2.8-W32-RO.EXE Access is denied" Even though the Koha has been installed twice and the computer has restarted. How do I run Koha without installing it again and getting the above message?? Help! Karina Tumon

koha barcode mondatory

Hello, I have setup koha and would like to try entring some data into it, but each time I try to entre a record, I can not go through the Items section. I get an error message "-1 mandaroty fields empty" and it points to the barcode field "p -barcode *". I am using koha 2.2.8. I do not remember setting any barcode parameters as mandatory. a problem in configuring the apache server

after installing the apache server when i start the apache server in the console mode then it such the follwing error Only one usage of each socket address(protocol/network address/port)is nornmally permited.:make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80 no listening sockets available what does this error means whct can i do to remove this address in the apache server i just disconnected my computer with the internet and all other network stuff. --- ashish mangla

Problems adding a biblio...

Hi there, We have installed the latest release of Koha on a Linux server: Operating System: Ubuntu 7.04 All worked well until a week ago when we started getting an error when trying to add a "biblio" manually. We are prompted to save the "addbiblio.pl" file. I see this has happened to other users before (google search), but I am unable to find a reference to a fix for it. See screenshot at http://overland.co.za/upload/share/error.jpg I have verified that cgid.load is present in "mods-enabled". The only thing that changed on the server since this feature became broke is an installation of Wordpress Blog. Not sure how this may have impacted on Koha ? I am having some problems installing version 3 of Koha, specifically, make test fails with a billion errors. I have downloaded the distribution. I created a database called koha (overwriting my version 2.x koha database). I made sure the kohaadmin user had access to the database. I ran perl Makefile.PL and kept all the defaults. When I run make test I get bunches o' errors mostly because the database has no tables. Was the make process expected to create the database structure? Did I miss something? -- Eric Lease Morgan

batch load sets of MARC records

Is there a command-line driven way to batch load sets of MARC records in Koha version 2.2.9? I have installed version 2.2.9. After editing the koha-httpd.conf file and making koha.conf readable by the Web server, I was able to access the Koha public and back-end interfaces. I then used the Web- based import routine to add about 100 MARC records to the "biblio". I then used the cataloging interface to find a particular record, give it an accession number, and give it a barcode. After that the item was added to the collection and searchable from the public interface. Cool. This process was a bit tedious. Is there a way to simply import my batch of 300,000 record into the system without touching each one? -- Eric Lease Morgan
